Yeah, I'm coming around on Ogletree. I know you and Ray have wanted him for some time. It seems like he has everything he needs to be a star linebacker. We need to get the BPA in the 1st round. If we could come away with Ogletree with our pick or by trading a pick next year to move up a little, I am good with that. I would definitely like Jones in the 2nd round as that C/G. I also wouldn't be against trading the 1st we have next year for a 2nd this year to get another lineman or TE of a higher quality so the new coach has some ammo to get things turned around next season.

I don't think Ogletree is better than Arthur Brown at all. Brown's a smarter player who played on a worse defense and is just as physically imposing.

It would be nice to trade down and come away with this:

Eifert
Fluker
Arthur Brown/Anthony Barr

Oh, I dont know...Jim Finks took the best player availible when he drafted and I mean, produced a SB.

This drafting for need needs to stop if Emery wants to have a job. He has already proven to reach with his draft picks and thats not a good sign.

So the Rams fired Greg Williams who was suspended. If he can get reinstated, I'd love him to be on the staff of whoever the Bears hire.

He is terrible DC who got lucky 1 year

His D is blitz , blitz , blitz

Majority of time he gets burned and his defenses have proven to be some of the worst fundamentally in NFL

The Saints haven't been able to tackle for years

I dont care what the mock drafts or draftnicks say about somebody. First round picks in the NFL have to produce from day one in this day and age, and granted, the poor kid was concussed for most of the year but there was plenty of talent bypassed for poor Shea.

Chandler Jones would have made that defense that much better, but thats just my opinion.

Maybe I was just spoiled by Jim Finks and Bill Tobin up until Stan Thomas, but you look at the last eight years of first round picks of the Bears and you see possibly the worst draft history of any team.

McClellin wasn't a 1st rounder until combine/pre draft hype

Whenever a guys stock rises in months before draft dramatically it is usually a bad sign but teams buy into the BS

Exactly. Like the Raiders did every year. Take a proven player instead of some combine champion.

There's no such thing as a proven player. Aaron Curry was supposed to be the safest pick in the draft a few years ago and he turned out to be a huge bust. And it's not like Jones was a college stud. He put up 1.5, 4, and 4.5 sacks in his three years at Syracuse.

Curry had mental problems and injury issues, that falls directly on scouting.

Not that taking Shea and his concussions isnt something to be concerned about or anything.....

You are such a joke. Chandler Jones was a big late riser. In fact he was included with McClellin in a SI piece on late draft risers

There were rumors leading up to the draft that the Patriots were high on Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones, and they executed a rare (for New England) first-round trade up to draft Jones with the 21st overall pick.

Jones was considered a “late riser” in the draft process. Most draftniks didn’t catch onto Jones until late in the process because he was not an overly productive player, managing just 10 career sacks.

But NFL teams were infatuated with Jones’ relentless motor and Pierre-Paulian length. He has incredibly long 35 1/2-inch arms and can afford to pack more than his current 266 pounds onto a 6-foot-5-and-change frame. There is a lot of “growth potential” here.

Stop putting in factual evidence that proves Chandler Jones wasn't the 2nd coming. As Martini and BWC have proven over and over with his 1 draft, Emery reaches with every one of his picks and doesn't do a good job, 1 year is more then enough time to tell us everything we need to know FIRE HIM NOW!

To be accurate

It isn't hindsight for me ,, I was calling for Bears to pick Chandler Jones at time of draft

The results of this season just further prove I was right

Just to provide some clarification as someone who watches all of the Patriots games as well, Chandler wasn't some super imposing, all powerful force.
