How many games has Makarov been scratched for so far?

Hope it's a great game, Canada has to be better than against the US because Russia has some finishers.

Hoping for an injury free game for Russia and save some energy for the gold medal run. A win would be nice too, but more important to be in better shape for the knockout rounds

Now this is a game to get excited for. I have no idea who wins. I just hope it's high scoring. I'll say a 5-4 final.

Posting in epic thread.

Murphy with the game winner in OT. Subban stands on his head. Spott gets anointed as the next Bowman.

Go Canada Go!!!!! I'll be watching this one!

I feel like there will be some dirty hits in this game. Hope no one gets injured. Let the best team win!

Taking a chance probably, but I think Russia takes this.

Have seen their games so far and I think their D is better than I thought it would be, and will be the difference.

Winner gets the bye into the Semis. Russia has 8 points (SOW), while Canada has 9 points. Even if Russia only wins via the SO or OT, both teams have 10 points, but I believe the next tie breaker is points earned head to head, which Russia would win.

End of the day, regardless of when or how the winner is declared, the winner goes into the Semis. Loser plays in the Quarters, likely against either Finland or the Czechs.

Have to see if fatigue sets in for the CAD forwards. Getting 2 suspended players back for the next game will help. Have to be able roll 4 lines in the 2nd half of back to back games.

Canada will lose just so they don't have 2 days off without a game.

This way someone can get suspended and not have it count for as important of a game.

LOL.

I don't expect either team to come out of this game with a suspended player.

Wake up and watch hockey at 9:00 a.m.

Hoping the game will live up to the hype.

Canada 10-0 Russia.

In reality, it might be 2-2, 2-1, 1-2 tight game.

But yeah 10-0 would be good too.

Canada actually looked good today, although Harrington seems unable to pass, great defense but still, going to be an exciting morning, spengler at 6am and this game at 9am, morning full of hockey

New Year's Eve games are ALWAYS gong shows. I expect a very high-scoring game.

Russia will win 5:3. The fifth goal is an empty-netter. Big game for Grigorenko.

I'm going to say 3-1 Russia, based on nothing that I've seen thus far. I don't think either team would be really broken up about losing, and Canada might be better off with another game to actually sort things like the PP and zone entry out.

A close game either way, or a 3 goal win either way, would not surprise me.

Seems like a strange decision to scratch Makarov for this one. Any Russian posters know why they decided to do that?

Anyway, mad @ Canada for beating the US and hoping for a big game from Grigorenko, so go Russia!
