Sadly, I think it'll be a while before we see some good ice. This weather ****ing sucks, I just got a new twig today and I want to use it!

Queenswood heights community center should be ready in 2 days. Usually one of the earliest in the city.

It's a good resource but not 100% reliable.

If a rink is ready right now word of mouth is probably the best way to go.

I might dink around on Queenswood tonight, the ice is good enough just has snow over it, but there's a couple shovels lying out there.

Yooooooo whaaatttt?!?! I live in Orleans too but I would have never thought any rink would be ready this early with all this terrible weather. Im definitely gonna drive by tonight cause I can't wait. All this snow should be good too for some of the other rinks to get a good base.

This rink was ready a good week before anywhere else last year. Something like December 15th, but last year was earlier.

The old man that keeps that rink together, who can easily be confused for the old man in Home Alone, gets on his **** ASAP. I went by 2 days ago and there was a sheet of ice started, but ugly, went by yesterday, it was still pretty thin but it was mostly smooth. Went by today and it was covered by snow but there was a little patch shoveled and it looked good enough for a couple desperate fools. Could easily shovel a bigger patch and toss the puck around.

On ottawarinkconditions.ca it says they're building base ice so I dunno how good it will be or if I wanna risk ****ing it up, but I'm gonna drive by tonight too and see. If its any smooth im 10000% playing lol

the snow today will help outdoor rinks quite a bit, expected to be below 0 every day until new years eve so far, of course that could change but it's a good sign.

Ben Franklin place is open, no idea where it is but the website above says it is in fair condition.

I walked on it....the part that was shoveled was smooth enough and I think more could be shoveled. Couple ruts here and there to be expected but it looks good enough to me and I was walking around.

Oh that one, you can't play hockey on there . If i remember right, they have pipes underneath the water to help it freeze and a zamboni.

There should be the 1st Annual HFBoards Outdoor Rink Classic.

Team MoO vs Team CJam. Fighting is welcome.

I know right?

I'm sure all the major networks would be in on it. In all seriousness, are there any outdoor rinks where you can "book" ice-time?

I'm probably going to go flood Marsha's Park tomorrow or the day after to get it going. It's all depending on the weather. We just gotta watch out for warm days.

Is anyone actually interested in setting up a day to all get together and play? We could do a draft like thing (MoO and I would be the captains of course.) No animosity or anything just for fun.
