Was saints OC for 3 years. Easily "NFL" caliber.Recommended by Sean Payton and Bill Parcells. Turned a dreadful SU program totally around into a respectable program again. Marrone is a great coach and every bit as worthy as Chip Kelly, in fact even more qualified as Marrone has plenty NFL experience while Kelly has 0. Sad to see him leave SU but stoked he is the Bills coach now now bring Nassib with you!

IMO I put the Saints offense success on Brees/Payton not Marrone

One of the reasons I am not impressed with Carmicheal who Bears have interest in

Seems decent enough, but that's it, really. Decent hire for a decent franchise. Nothing wow-worthy or necessitating complaints.

Can anyone give any background on this guy? Is he a good fit for us? I know nothing about Syracuse or what he did there. Thanks.

As a Bills fan, I am really, REALLY happy with this. He was my first choice for the job, honestly. Won a Super Bowl in NO, and then turned around a pathetic SU team. I think he'll be a success in Buffalo.

Time will tell if this turns out to be a good hire or not.

But the real question is...Nassib in the 2nd round?

Marrone hires Nathaniel Hackett as OC and Mike Pettine as DC per Mortensen.

Hackett is the son of Paul Hackett and was the OC at Syracuse under Marrone...but this will be his first major job (aka not quality control coach) in the NFL.

Pettine was the Jets DC last 4 years, declined to sign an extension with them though.

Love the DC choice, OC is a gamble given his lack of experience but familiarity with Marrone probably played a big role.

Nassib at #8. no chance at all Nassib makes it past #25 in the first round. This draft is too weak of QBs and Nassib is a top 3 in this draft. (behind Geno smith tied with Barkley IMO)
