What is this?
You're building a team. You're given the option to choose any of these trio of defenseman to build your core around.

Who do you go for? (ignore cap hit for this exercise)

Will be ranking the Top 15.

Criteria:
2007 Draftees and beyond (let me know if any the prospects on any team's lists is wrong or someone is more deserving)
- - -
Previously Voted Top Trios:
1.) St.Louis: Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk, Ian Cole
2.) Ottawa: Erik Karlsson, Jared Cowen, Cody Ceci
3.) Phoenix: Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Brandon Gormley, David Rundblad
4.) Washington: John Carlson, Karl Alzner, Dmitri Orlov
5.) LA: Drew Doughty, Slava Voynov, Derek Forbort
6.) NYR: Ryan McDonagh, Michael Del Zotto, Dylan McIlrath

Tough call between the Panthers, Islanders, and Maple Leafs.

I went with the Leafs.

Subban > Gardiner (both NHL defenseman, but Subban is one year older. Still he has an extra year of experience, a great playoff run and I would argue better defensively at this stage in development)

Reilly > Beaulieu (Both great defenseman but both scouts and myself agree that Reilly has higher upside going forward)

Finn =/> Tinordi (Finn is putting up an impressive OHL season while Tinordi is having an underwhelming first AHL season. They are very different types of defenseman though and hard to compare. I'd call it a draw)

Therefore, the comparison is a essentially a wash. Really based on preference if you ask me.

Tinordi is head and shoulders above Finn.

Just in case people were forgetting the Third Winged-wheel (Get it?) Ryan Sproul is now 3rd in goal scoring amongst OHL defensemen... Despite missing 17 games this season with a broken arm.

Higher draft ranking, WJC participation, higher hf prospect rating, better bloodlines, more physically gifted, better intangibles (captained team to memorial cup last year). Tinordi made HF's propect rankings and Finn didn't so I know people agree with me.

Care to justify saying Finn is better than or equal to Tinordi?

Tough call, went with Florida.

Don't dislike anyone's 3, but there's definitely a few teams ahead of the curve.

Heh, I wanna play this game...

Smith and Gardiner are too close to call... Unless you want me to use "<=>" as symbols.
Ouellet < Reilly
Sproul > Finn

Yet nobody's freaking out for Detroit's trio...

I went with Montreal due to Subban, but I can make arguments for either Florida or the Islanders as well.

Wow, it would be a tough call. I admit to letting a bit of homerism sway my vote. Florida's trio is gorgeous...
