What prospects will stay in junior? who will go to NHL?
If the lockout ends here pretty quick, what prospects will instantly get called up to play in NHL? would NHL teams actually want to use a year up on a entry level contract for this shortened and busy schedule? Or will teams keep their prospects playing in junior and in KHL for the season and bring them up next season? Guys like Hamilton, Strome, Grigorenko, Yakupov, Tarasenko, etc, etc were pretty much a lock to play in the NHL this season. I have read that Buffalo announced already that Grigorenko will be staying in Junior not matter what this year now....My question is, what players do you think will get called up right away?
Im mostly talkin about the CHL guys that I mentioned in the opening post that were pretty much penciled in at the start of the year that would be playing their first year of their contract type guys... like the Hamilton's, Strome's, Yakupov's, Tarasenko's, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko, Huberdeau etc etc... I'm wondering if alot of NHL teams will just let them finish off the season in Junior and not waste a year on their contract for a very short season
Teams had to notify the CHL of what players they were going to call up. If he isn't there it means that the Islanders didn't submit his name. Maybe there's a technicality that I'm missing.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
I still think Rattie and Scheifele will go back to junior.
Hamilton, Zibanejad, Huberdeau, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko and Murray go to the NHL.
I think Strome will jump to the NHL but will struggle a la Niederreiter.
Reinhart and Reilly are toss ups.
Dumba stays in RD.
I bet Brodin will make the club out of training camp.
Agree with most of this.
I think Scheifele and Reilly have shown enough that they'll get extended looks (9 games) and be sent back after that unless they really impress. Murphy will likely be given the same opportunity by the Canes.
Reinhart, Rattie, and Strome both were not on the TSN list (thankfully for them) so they're all out of the equation now.
Rask is a new one I'm adding to this discussion. He looked good in his stint with Charlotte to start the season, really good. He may end up going back to the Checkers for the remainder of the season if not outright beating out Welsh, Nash, and Brent for the open #3 center spot (assuming they don't sign a FA such as Arnott on a short term deal).
Buffalo has said that Grigorenko will play the full 12-13 season with Quebec even if the lockout ends, so no shot in the NHL for him until next year.
I wouldnt be so sure about that unless Darcy Regier has come out and said that, I would be extremly suprised if he didnt come to the shortened training camp.
I think before this nonsense lockout really even started, St. Louis said that Rattie would be playing in Portland no matter what this season
With Tarasenko and Schwartz, we simply don't have room for another rookie winger right now in St.Louis. He or Jaskin could possibly crack the roster in camp next season, but will more than likely play for our Ahl affilliate-Peoria and be used for call-ups.

oh i didnt know that... interesting.... Im happy Strome will stay in Junior then. I think he will be real good and am PRAYING the isles dont screw this one up
