There's no way Hemsky would not be involved, imo.

No need for another oft. injured Puck moving Dman.

And nobody in good faith cannot say Green is not oft. injured. Two seasons of 48 and 32 games just doesn't happen to that many players. I'd rather have a bulky guy who puts up 20 points, but I know he will put up 20 points and be a plus player.

I am aware he played several near-complete seasons before that. However, it is the most recent seasons which are weighted most heavily.

A year ago I wanted Green on my team, but the timing doesn't work anymore.

I really love the Smid/Petry duo. They're a great shutdown duo and Petry is great at rushing the puck and that's going to pay off more and more on the stat sheet as Edmonton moves forward.

I want to see Schultz shine. Can you believe this guy was ranked like 800th on Yahoo fantasy sports league?

Whitney is fine on the third pairing.

That is all.

healthy that guy, on an offensive team with an offensive system and with players like rnh hall and eberle, could be terrific

He has had three unrelated injuries, none of which are of the lasting variety. Nothing major before that. He's unlucky, not oft-injured.

That said, we just gave him a 3 year extension this offseason. Check back next summer at the earliest, no one gets traded this soon after signing a long term deal.

Smid-Green
Schultz-Schultz
Whitney-Petry

I could see it.

That said he doesn't get moved without either a big 4 caliber player or a package of smaller pieces that is good enough to make the caps better now and later. Probably no deal unless Green+ for Yakupov.

Remember it only applies to Hemsky . Any other player there an excuse for .

Green doesn't seem appropriate for Edmonton's needs... like at all. He's pretty much the exact opposite of what they need.

It's not going to happen, Green will not be the basis of a trade for Yakupov at this point.

Green is an upgrade on any offensive D that they have, they can put a stay at home D like Hall Gill who played with Subban the years that the habs got succes, they r cheaper to find.

but I can understand the other guy who says he wants to look Shultz shine

An upgrade isn't the same as a need. Edmonton's greatest asset is their PP, and Schultz fits nicely into that already, but focusing too much on that leaves glaring weaknesses elsewhere. Edmonton(in my opinion) needs to get better at even strength, and more than that, what they need is a stabilizing force on the blue line. Someone who can smoothly, and efficiently, make the good decisions in the defensive zone, get it out, and get it up. Once they get it in the offensive zone, they have the horses to do the rest. Basically, they need a defenseman who can help them play a three-zone game.

To me, Mike Green is a redundant addition for a team that needs to get stronger in other areas. Sure, a healthy Green should be better than Schultz, but that doesn't necessarily make them a better team. It basically just highlights their strengths even more, at the expense of their weaknesses. To me, that isn't a good recipe for a winning team, and in the playoffs it would be a disaster.

hahah thank you sir. i came to post this exact thing.

I think Green WOULD fit in well for what its worth, but I think Hedman would fill more of a need (he's just lacking the nasty).

What your really looking for is a Travis Hamonic but you'd have to pry him from our cold dead hands.

I do not want Green at all. Would not trade MPS for him. Irrational, maybe, but I do not see him turning it around at all.
