Yakupov to TB

Edmonton needs a 1-2 d to play with Schultz not another one of the same players as NHop-Hall_Eberle-Hemsky-Gagner etc...

TB needs a top fwd once they buyout Vinny with the buyout clause

Yakupov for Hedman

Hedman doesnt have a NTC, he is young, a left shot, fair cap rate for a top D

Other D that the Oilers could use Yak to trade for are:

Fowler...they are gonna lose at least one of Perry-Getz-BRyan-Selanne

Erik Johnson...Duchene and Yak would be a great 1-2 connection

Goligoski...Dallas will need a young fwd after their two fossils hibernate

Smith, Gustavsson and Fiippula, Tatar for Omark and Yakupov, Tuebert, Khabby...sucks for Det D but they are a goal scoring team

PK Subban...MTL loves small fwd and he would be awesome beside Galenychuk!

Yandle...perfect fit for Schultz!

Reilly, Ashton and Colbourne...dynamic player for TOR for three solid prospects

Booth, Schroeder and Ballard...Yak/Gagner

I'm not the biggest Yakupov fan, but I certainly think he's worth more than Hedman...

I really don't understand why people like Hedman.

There is only a few defensemen I`d trade Yakupov for, and as much as I think Hedman will be great soon, I don`t think he`s enough.

If any team want's Yakupov, they'd better be prepared to offer up an Oliver Ekman-Larsson or Alex Pietrangelo type player. Those guys are a clear step up on Hedman right now.

Just for clarification, I'm not suggesting one of those teams will like that deal, but its what I think the Oilers would need to move Yakupov right now.

Hedman a 6'6" skating D a good complement to Schultz...its not always about winning a trade as much as finding the right fit for you own team. $4M for Hedman is a fair price

You trade for finding a fit if its getting rid of depth players, not guys with 50 goal potential.

The last thing Tampa Bay needs to do is trade defense for offense.

Without Hedman, Tampa's D would be worse than what Edmonton's is right now. It makes no sense for them whatsoever.

Why the hate for Hedman? He's a decent #1 defenseman and he's still very young. He goes against the likes of Kovy, Ovy, Malkin, etc. all the time and does a fairly good job. Defensemen usually take some time to develop.

Hedman is insanely underrated. He doesn't get nearly enough cred for what he does in Tampa with absolutely no support. He's not quite in the Karlson-Pietrangelo-OEL class, but he's only a tiny step behind. I'd put him about even with McDonagh, and I'm a huge McDonagh fan. Below-average #1D, with star potential.

Even if Edmonton thinks Yakupov is worth more, there is no way in hell Tampa even thinks about this.

Tampa's D was worse than ours last year, and that's without the addition of Justin Schultz. I'd say Tampa may have the worst D in the league, which only further proves they cannot afford to trade Hedman. Value wise I'd say its fair, but horrible for TBay in terms of need.

God no. If Yakupov were dealt for a defender, Hedman is right around what you'd get. You're sure as hell not getting an elite defender (which is all you listed) for an unproven rookie.

Please do the Dallas, Vancouver or PHX deal. Please. But in order of preference of which team I would want the deal to go to, Dallas/PHX -- VAN. Vancouver's good enough as is, and Yakupov would scare the sisters.

McDonagh and Hedman aren't even close on the offensive end as the guys you mentioned above.

Which is why Edmonton wouldn't trade him until he's proven.

I expect he'll play with Hemsky and Gagner next season as an LW, and could see time with Hopkins and Eberle. I can't see them moving him for another player until they see how he performs.

I think EDM would benefit from a MaxPac+ for Yak deal.

Hedman, Carle, Salo, Brewer, Ohlund (if he's healthy) is the worst D in the league? It's significantly better than Edmonton's next season.
