As a Pats fan i'm not sure what to think about losing Welker. On one hand he'e one of the most productive WR in the league and his chemistry with Brady is great.

On the other i'm afraid of locking a 32 years old Welker long term at big $$$. If he was in his mid 20's then go for it but at 32.....

If the Pats do lose him i hope BB and co have something else in their hat. Losing Wes without a replacement is going to hurt the offense no question about it. And no i don't think Edelman can pick the slack.

I think it was a smart move. Pats always seem to know when to let go and when to hang onto players. I hate the Pats but always give them the benefit of the doubt.

Sucks if we lose Welker, especially to the Broncos

Danny Amendola would look good with the Pats. However, injuries are a concern.

Anywhere but there, please. I don't want to see Welker catch passes from Manning. Would make me puke.

Losing Welker would be a huge blow to the Pats offense and him going to the Broncos would make it an even bigger hit.

Just as a football fan, I would love to see Manning throw passes to Thomas, Decker, and Welker. That offense would be really fun to watch.

Was wary of losing Welker but now that I see that he's 32 Pats might want to go in a more youthful direction

Who's left out there that can help the Saints from breaking their own record when it comes to sucking on defence?

There are rumors going around that it could be Plan B for the Pats

Pats don't have a history of locking 30+ years old players long term so i cannot say that i'm really surprised by the decision to not re-sign Welker. What i'm afraid of is to lose him without a suitable replacement.

Whoops..I didn't even know they signed Quin as well

Thus ends the eras of Best and Delmas. Both good but too much risk going forward.

DHB is probably out of their price range now. If they sign a WR, it won't be a big name.

They already made an offer to Domenix Hixon yesterday but he's hoping for something more elsewhere. Still could sign with Detroit but that's the type of filler they are probably looking for now.

More specifically, we’re now getting the clear impression that last year’s incident that, as reported by Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports, was “practically a mutiny,” has contributed to the departure of Pollard — and could result in more players being purged.

And he’s where it gets really interesting. (Or at least less uninteresting.) Silver specifically mentioned Pollard and Ed Reed as instigators of the mutiny.

Coincidentally, we’re now getting indications that the Ravens don’t want Reed back.

A lot of safeties were released lately. I wonder who they grab.

John McClain @McClain_on_NFL
The Texans' first visit will be with S Ed Reed. He'll be at their facility on Thursday. They need a vet to replace Glover Quin.

Levitre is vastly underrated, but nearly 8M per year is still a lot for a guard, especially one that isn't an elite player.

With Drew Stanton signing with the Cardinals, and Brian Hoyer signing his tender, expect Kevin Kolb to be cut, and possibly end up with the Jets

If that story is true that would be pretty funny. I still remember the articles praising Harbaugh for being a bigger man and engaging the players, I guess the plan was to get rid of them at the end of the year anyway. What a filthy business pro sports can be.

On the flip side, what a great coaching job.

So the Cards are not gonna attempt to improve there QB situation or did I miss something

Skelton , Stanton and Hoyer is easily the worst collection of QB talent in NFL

And with such a weak draft for QB why dump Kolb who at times looked ok last year

Middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, a first-time free agent, has been flirting with the enemy, specifically the NFC North division rival Vikings. A Vikings source confirmed talks with Urlacher’s camp, but said the team was "monitoring’’ the situation and still believed Urlacher eventually would remain with the Bears.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...,3777261.story

Urlacher trying to use the Vikings to get some more money from the Bears. Vikings better not be serious about this. Urlacher is finished.

Maybe they're just trying to drive up the price like the Bears did with Loadholt.

That could be the case, but the Vikings also are almost completely bare at linebacker. Urlacher isn't looking to get a huge payday. It wouldn't hurt the Vikings if they signed him.

They do need someone in the middle but Urlacher isn't the guy. Doesn't fit into what they're trying to do, they need to go young.

The Cards need a QB period, they have talent outside of that position.

Oy Arizona..
