And with such a weak draft for QB why dump Kolb who at times looked ok last year
I think it might be a case of them waiting for next year and hoping to pick a Bridgewater/Manziel/Bortles type early in the draft.

They'll draft an LT in the draft, and grab a QB next year. You can't blame them. Their team is a bit of a mess, their division is going through a major arms race. They are basically a lock for last in their division.

I don't think signing Urlacher would stop them from drafting another middle linebacker high in the draft.

If they think someone like Arthur Brown can be a good MLB in the NFL and draft him high, maybe even with the Seattle pick, he would/should come in and start right away. Where would that leave Urlacher?

They already have Greenway and Henderson as the other two starting linebackers.

As a reserve? Backup?

BTW if Te'o dropped, Minnesota should be all over that.

Urlacher trying to use the Vikings to get some more money from the Bears. Vikings better not be serious about this. Urlacher is finished.

Maybe they're just trying to drive up the price like the Bears did with Loadholt.
Bears have already made it clear to Urlacher they wont overpay for him at this stage of his career (Thus why he is a FA)

Vikes will be bidding against themselves in this situation

ANd if Urlacher goes to Vikes it would tarnish his legacy a bit ,, Guy either needs to take discount and finish with Bears or retire IMO

As of right now, the Vikings aren't even bidding. Apparently the Cowboys and Cardinals are interested in him as well.

I could see Urlacher going to Dallas (Marinelli is there) but he really is to slow to try and contain guys like Vick and RGIII at this point nor can he cover TE's well anymore with loss of speed

Denver needs an MLB, but I would be leery of Urlacher at this point.

According to one of our local journalists, Saints will sign CB Keenan Lewis and possibly CB Aso at a lower price.

No. Overrated and brings a Tebow-esque media circus.

Few things heard on ESPN radio, Leon Washington visiting New England and Greg Jennings visiting the Vikings.

I would be happy to bring Urlacher in on a 1-3 year deal to man the middle. Even knowing he is at the end of his career. He can still be a solid 2-down backer and brings leadership and experience we need.

We will have to bring in somebody no matter what. Either forced into drafting a MLB high, or signing a FA. Why not Urlacher?

More to a point, we have only 1 bone fide starter on the roster (Greenway). Henderson is just a warm body placeholder until a competent starter can be found.

Knowing injuries are inevitable, it would be nice to have 4 guys on the roster who can play. Uralcher, Henderson, Greenway and a rookie, let the best three start.

Vikes have had a good history of getting solid play out of aging vets at MLB. Provided he isn't looking for huge money, Urlacher would be a good fit and continue that trend (again, setting expectations that we are getting a 2-down player)

Depends on what you mean by drop.

Based on his combine performance and whole fiasco (either he was part of the scam, or is just plain dumb), no way I would want to use a 1st round pick on him.

If he is on the board at our 2nd round pick, then I think the value is absolutely there. I doubt he drops that far, but would agree we should jump on him if he does.

Everyone is linking the Vikings to Cassel. I don't want him but I suppose there are worse backups you can get.

Donald Jones to visit the Pats today.

Most likely to prevent himself from getting crushed by Wilfork again.

Cassels does nothing for me. I would hope we get somebody who will push Ponder to start. Caseros might do that, but that is not a good thing, it would mean Ponder continues to flounder.
