I've never heard of this before. Anyone read this Yahoo article about how Tim Brown believes Raiders head coach, Callahan, sabotaged the Super Bowl in 2002?

He didn't throw the game or anything like that, but he was an incompetent coach who never should have had the job. And when it came down to it, changing the game plan that way was incidental sabotage.

Anyway, seeing Callahan flailing around from job to job gives me great pleasure. We had everything to win that Super Bowl but a competent head coach. Talent was there, just couldn't do it. Considering we haven't been in a playoff game since, I get pretty salty over it.

Yeah, hard for me to believe he would "throw" the game to let his boy Gruden win, regardless of how bad you hate the organization you work for. But just doesn't make any sense on why you would change a game plan that close to kick off.

You are obviously a Raider fan, and I can't remember that far back, was this talked about soon after the game? I never heard of any of this until I just read that article.

They didn't throw the game. Callahan rode Gruden's stacked team to a SB, in which he was dominated by Gruden who was coaching Dungy's stacked roster.

No sabotage, just a terrible HC.

No, but everyone talked about how the Raiders signals and terminology weren't changed. The Raiders couldn't audible because Gruden was onto everything. I'd never suggest that he threw the game, but I can see why Tim Brown would be angry like this, not changing things like that is a form of self-sabotage. Callahan has to be the worst coach to participate in a Super Bowl, I can't think of anyone worse. Even Mike Martz looks like a genius compared to him.

I have a hard time believing that any coach would change the game plan for any game, nevermind the Superbowl the friday before the game. The first thing I thought of is why wait until now to make these insane alligations.
ridiculous.

Browns won't yet commit to QB

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/88...weeden-starter

Further proof that the Weeden pick was absolutely retarded.

It was more work ethic than intellect for JaMarcus, although being dumb as a rock didn't help.

Tom Brady goes cleats up on a slide, tries to injure someone intentionally: $10k.

Frank Gore doesn't wear his socks high enough: $10.5k

Right...

How much of a joke is the probowl?

The Chiefs have ended up sending 6 players to it. That's right, the worst team in the league has sent 6 players to the probowl.

If they're going to a 3-4 that's one thing. It's another if it's result-based because the personnel was terrible. Interesting it happens on Payton's beckoning. Wonder who they're going after, because it's a huge decision.

Not exactly surprising with how we struggled. And I tend to think we have the personnel to do well in a 3-4. It's all up to the draft and who get at DC. So so sad we missed on Ray Horton.

Hoping we can snag Keith Butler from the Steelers as DC.

I know it's not just Goodell all by himself playing the dictator card and there's other various rules/agreements and such but he has a lot to do with the making of those rules.
