Stupid. Should've hired Crenel.

RT @LarryHolder: A source I truly trust says the hiring of Rob Ryan to the #Saints isn't done deal.

Schef jumped the gun....sounds like the Saints will interview Ryan and Georgia DC Todd Grantham. Both run a 3-4 and are overrated.

Put me in the corner who is shocked about the Rams claiming Young. Any guy, no matter how talented he is, but any guy who sabotages his own team because of playing time doesn't deserve to be in the NFL. Dude has a terribad attitude.

And I'd rather Saints hire Grantham than a Ryan. I'm still holding out hope for Tomsula though.

Good point about Young

I wouldn't imagine Fisher would want him ,, How much say does Fisher have in roster moves?

He has final say. The guy loves problem children. Haynesworth, Finneran, Jenkins, Kerry Collins, Kenny Britt, Moss off waivers, gave Pacman Jones a few years...pretty overlooked fact about all his teams is that they have questionable characters and are usually dirty.

Here's some stats regarding that too

Quote:
• From 2001-2010, the Titans led the NFL in most personal foul penalties with 163. The second-highest teams on the list for most PFs were the NY Giants and Arizona Cardinals, with 137.

Here's the breakdown ...

* The Titans led the NFL in unnecessary roughness penalties, 67.

* The Titans led the NFL in roughing the passer penalties, 46.

* The Titans were fifth in other variations of personal fouls (32) and sixth in unsportsmanlike conduct penalties (18.)
http://www.stltoday.com/sports/colum...a4bcf6878.html

So it's not surprising he'd want a guy like Young.

I'm pretty sure Fisher has final say in St. Louis, that's one of the reasons why he chose the Rams over the Dolphins.

Jim Schwartz was also an assistant under Fisher for almost 10 years and they have a very good relationship. Fisher probably knows everything that went on behind the scenes in Detroit and he knows what he's getting into. He still decided to take the risk and claim Young. We'll see how it works out now.

I forget...Which team (and coach) took Randy Moss after he did basically the same thing in Oakland? And didn't he have 1,500 yds and 23 tds his fist year there?

I'm certainly not saying that Young has Moss skills but he has the kind of speed that others don't. Rams just put in a waiver claim and they aren't at the top of the list. I imagine that someone else will end up claiming him in the next week.

As a Lions fan, I'm very happy to see Titus Young get cut. Just a waste of a draft pick. The moron will likely be in jail within a couple years.

Its a low risk high reward move for the Rams, I dont know if you watched any of our games the last few years but our recievers are absolutely putrid, with the exception of Givens and Amendola, the latter of which is always hurt and will probably leave as a FA this year.

Then don't?

Randy Moss was a player who had shown in the past how dominant he could be. Young on the other hand has shown very little yet in his very short career has already shown significant attitude issues that has culminated him to sabotage his team due to him not getting playing time.

Not the same situation at all.

No, he's a Ram. They were the only team to put a claim in on him. Waivers are 24 hours.

Terrible news for 49ers TE Delanie Walker after the SB. His aunt and uncle were killed by a drunk driver after the game.

Not during the offseason, it's 10 days.

Wow... this article says they were on their way out of New Orleans, after he had hosted them as his guests. Just pulled over on the side of the road, and then BAM.

The period is 24 hours. It wouldn't have leaked that they claimed him if he wasn't, because then someone higher in the waiver order could claim him to screw them if they wanted.

Here's confirmation:

#Rams have been awarded WR Titus Young from waivers. Young spent first two seasons in Detroit.

Looks like Randy Moss didn't have the biggest joke of a claim.
This guy is WOW, always thought he was a joke when I saw that he had Young Sr. on the back of his jersey. Why highlight that you named your son after you?

Adrian Peterson had surgery today to repair a sports hernia. Wow.

Just watching NFL Live now and he said it happened against Detroit right before the bye. Amazing that he was able to do what he did.

Any Pats fans? Man oh man... I always get crap for this, but we should definitely look towards Barkley in round 2 coming up here. Brady really ain't getting any younger.

The fact that Aqib Talib is also our only shutdown corner really scares me. Should try and trade up for Milliner, maybe?

He's a beast.

Of course Bill Simmons is the first one to start talking about PEDs. He has to avoid the lawsuit so he says he's not accusing them of anything but he still wonders how Peterson and Manning came back and played as well as they did.

Well, you know we hear those sorts of things from the NFL and also the NHL and obviously these are tough individuals, but the extent to which both leagues are built on insane amounts of painkillers (and probably other chemical "assistance" which gets even less publicity though) is probably the real amazing thing (the Jason Taylor article by Lebatard is telling in this regard, but nobody should think Taylor is unique).

Saints do hire Rob Ryan. I guess we'll be going through this again next year.
