Ottawa passes. Although, Duchene woulf be awesome to have, just not worth the lost of Spezza.

Ottawa doesn't have a 2nd rounder, what a dumb proposal.

Like Duchene a lot - but no thanks value wise from Ottawa!

As a Flames fan i would say no simply because where we are in the scheme of things.

2-3 years of Spezza isnt worth it when giving up Sven who i believe will be a legit #1 LW.

I also think with where the Flames are at, giving up picks/prospects is probably the worst idea i have ever heard. Who do you think you are? D. Sutter?

If Iginla was 4 years younger, the Flames would be all over this. No point in giving away our best young asset for a centre to play with Iginla now though.

Especially to Ottawa, they would need a hell of a lot more incentive to trade Spezza.
Duchene would be a number one centre on exactly zero teams, Calgary included. So far he's been a moderately effective 2nd line equivalent player; that's not bad at his age, but let's not go rubbing up on his balls because he did better than expected in his rookie season.

And who exactly would be Calgary's number 1 Centre over Duchene?

IIRC he was a natural center, then moved to the wing, now back on center since he's been back with the Flames.

What about his near 70 point sophomore season? Oh, and Leafs say hi. And I would take Duchene over Cammy as well.

Ottawa gives up Spezza, a goalie who has good potential and a nice prospect?
