So here is a question worth discussing.... If the league and players reach an agreement and we do get a season, could Justin Schultz win the AHL and NHL rookie of the year in the same season? If a deal were to get done, I could still see him getting in the next 4 games before it is finalized. Assuming at his current clip he puts up 5 pts in those 4 games, he'd finish with 50pts in 35 games. Is 35 games enough to qualify? I would have to think 50pts from a rookie Dman in a full season would likely be good enough for rookie of the year. For the sheer impressiveness of the feat should he not get consideration, or do you guys think the AHL may be more interested in handing it out to someone who is there the whole season?

I would assume they would give it to someone who was there the whole season. I could be wrong. If I am, Schultz would probably have to be in talks.

I'd tell Schultz he get called up only when he breaks the defenseman goalscoring record.
Would be interesting to see which Barons would make it to the big club if there is a season.
Arcobello has played very well with Hall and Eberle. Could see him getting at least a few games in the big show.

He is playing well. However he won't get any chances with us unless there is an injury in the top 6 and maybe not even then. He won't be called up for a bottom 6 role (VV will though and that would be good). Arco needs to play a top 6 scoring role and I don't see him getting that opportunity here any time soon.
In saying all that I think he deserves a shot somewhere.
If Gagner and Horcoff both get hurt I could see Arcobello getting called up.
That's what it would take. 2 of our centers getting hurt. If gags or RNH gets hurt then Horc moves up and VV gets called up...or something along those lines. Which is why I don't see him getting much of an opportunity here even with the infamous injury bug.
