I'd like to know more about him. My understanding is that Palmeiri came from New Jersey as a borderline NHL capable player. His stats this year aren't great, but not bad either. I would think he'd be a second line guy. Or is he a bust?
Other than the first 5-6 games, I have really been impressed with Palmieri's play. He has mostly played on a line that could be considered 2a with McIntyre and Fontaine. His N/S skating has been good and he has been great at forcing turnovers. He is strong in the cycle, goes to the net, and has shown decent hands/shot. I do not see him becoming a top 6 winger (he'd have to put up more points) but if he can do in the NHL what he has done this year, he will be a reliable bottom-6 guy who can wear down opposing defensemen.

He's doing exactly what NJ fans told us he would. He has always been good in the AHL. He just can't seem to transfer it to the League.

Thanks for the Palmieri summary. Looking at his plus/minus (+9), the "forcing turnovers" bit makes sense.

Given our injury plagued season last year, it can't hurt to have another hard working player in the ranks, even if he can't stay in the NHL.
