If Russia loses this, they won't get to play for a medal at all

at least after last years debacle, Canada still got the bronze. Russia won't get a chance for that.

I'm not seeing many russian fans complaining about the ref - most complaints seem to be from neutral fans.

You're just criticizing for the sake of criticizing. He had a terrible angle. Where else was the puck going to go. There was no net to shoot at.

Swiss have to keep pushing. Don't pull a "Montreal Canadiens" and sit back.

Face it, your team has been outhustled and outplayed by a lesser Swiss team.

GO SWISS GO!

My bad for assuming then. On mobile you don't get to see avatars or anything.

In all honesty this ref from the Czech Republic is absolutely horrible. He reffed the Canada/Slovakia game and was absolutely brutal there, and it's no surprise he's been horrible here. That being said, maybe team Russia just needed to adapt to the rules?

Their close OT games against Czech, Finland and Sweden already kind of were.. Now this would be the reward.

It's all a matter of perspective.

If you think your team is the first recipient of poor officiating at this tournament, then I would like to congratulate on watching your first international hockey game in your life.

A lack of call (when Swiss tripped a Russian player) possibly cost Russia this game. Why did the refs not call that one? It was a clear cup tripping. And the refs have shown that they are not afraid to put one team on 5-3 PP (at least if that team is Swiss).

Following this thread from work, refreshing after every stop. Can't wait to go home and watch this.

I don't hate Russia, but love me an "upset". Go Switzerland.

That is nothing but an excuse. Russia has eight penalties, Switzerland has seven.

The crazy thing is that even though Yakupov hasn't looked like himself...he's still leading the team in points. This entire Russian team has been a bust so far and I think coaching has been a big part of it.
