On the unrelated note, these suits worn by Russian TV people are pretty pretty bad.

I do have to say though, I have not seen one good game from him yet. It seems like he doesn't want to contribute, and would rather skate up ice and hope someone can send him a stretch pass... yet it never works. That may just be a "Russian" thing though, as I seem to remember them running that play over the past few years. I guess people have caught on!
He has looked better in the KHL where he developed fairly solid chemistry with his line mates.

Coaching?
Coaching, good team play. They have pretty much everything except top end talent. If they did, they'd be able to score on the chances they get more often. They'd be a dangerous team if they had top end talent and the system they currently have in place.

I dunno why he isn't passing more. He's a very good playmaker. Maybe he feels like he has to be "the guy."

If that were the case, he should realize "the guy" doesn't have to always score goals to be a hero. I guess his tunnel vision is better.

I have been talking up Andrighetto since pre tournament, think he is pretty gifted.

For me, it's all about skating. These guys just skate so well they can play as a team superbly well, never being out of position defensively and always where they need to be offensively.

Czechs are pretty good team but most of them look like bears on skates compared to Swiss.

Pretty even period imo, Swiss could have had a couple more goals but Russia could have too I guess. Russia's goal was fairly weak. Keep going like this and I'm quite confident the Swiss could win, they controlled just as much of the play as Russia I think, created quite a few chances

One player I have been impressed with on Russia is Kucherov. I actually hadn't heard of him until this tournament but he has really made some great plays.

Tampa Bay have 4 players that are on the Russian team.

Kucherov
Nesterov
Vasilevski
Sergeev

Steve Yzerman trying to re-kindle some of the old Detroit Russian magic?

Its as always. Very good opportunities, but they don't make the goals.

OK - you're now considered a top team. Every loss now is a choke job.

You can't have it both ways - although the Swiss love to try....

One thing im really impressed with the swiss is their play down low and tight. They have no problem shaking the russian D.

Since Yakupov stinks and it's not a secret to anyone it has to be said Grigorenko is looking good. He'll put some points on the board today for sure.
