As reported earlier, CPrice has become extremely disgruntled in HFWF and has threatened to walk out. While there is no update on that situation, we can say a source close to Vince McMahon says Vince "lit up" at the possibility of this happening and would try to sign CPrice as soon as possible if he did leave.
After a strong debut into the wrestling world with Night to Remember the HFWF seemed to be the show to watch. A TV deal with NBC helped interest become so good that they even went head to head with WWE reigniting the Monday night wars. In the most surprising turn since their inauguration they even out drew WWE on two successive Mondays. However it seems that those victories could be the only victories HFWF may see unless they turn things around and fast. With WWE now in full “road to WrestleMania” mode the HFWF is going to have a hard time competing with the likes of the Rock on a weekly basis let alone if Triple H, Brock Lesner and the inevitable return of the Undertaker also add to HFWFs woes. But HFWF supporters should be slow to point to that as the reason that the HFWF is in need of immediate help, and look within it’s own walls as to why they may need immediate assistance if they want to not only stay relevant, but operational as well.
I am not just talking about the recent Kurt Angle fiasco, no that is just the tip of the iceberg. Keep in mind Kurt Angle is not the first HFWF star to debut and then leave shortly after. There is also Syn Shadow who came in highly touted only to be gone just one month after his debut, and lets not forget Morozov who was in the first ever Championship match and then never heard from again. It seems HFWF had big plans for both of these guys but those plans never came to fruition and we may never know why. (Although, it has been suggested that Syn Shadow could be the mystery third man in the six man main event of AfterShock.) This is not the only issue that HFWF seems to have with talent. CPrice has been a hot commoity for a while now but HFWF has not known what to do about it. They chose to keep him heel when he could have exploded as the face of the company. Crimson Skorpion had a huge win over End Of Line at StarStruck and what did they do to build on that big win? Nothing. It seems that HFWF was losing faith in their talent and instead of using their roster to build up a rapport with their fans, made the decision to bring in WWE castoffs in Bryan Danielson, Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabrilel as well as Rhyno and Colt Cabana from other promotions. Bringing in these “outsiders” has reportedly caused some backstage tension, which obviously has not been good for the HFWF locker room. Then of course there was the Kurt Angle Incident. Since it is so well known I won’t rehash what everyone already knows but the Kurt Angle incident did bring up a few other issues that HFWF seems to be dealing with; like how much say and power does SheamusFan actually hold, and what kind of morale does the HFWF locker room have when four of its top stars are rumoured to have threatened to walk out.
SheamusFan is the HFWF CEO but since signing the NBC TV deal how much power does he still hold. Obviously it has been well documented the NBC brokered the deal for Kurt Angle without SheamusFans input and you have to wonder if moving HFWF Slaughter to Mondays was NBCs idea as well. I’m sure the idea of going to Mondays seemed good at the time but HFWF is only kidding themselves if they think they can compete with WWE right now. Perhaps moving to Mondays so soon was not the best course of action seeing as how WWEs road to WrestleMania was just on the horizon and SheamusFan had to have known that HFWF would not stand a chance of competing with WWE during that time. If HFWF is lucky they might have a chance of competing with WWE after WrestleMania if the Rock, Lesner, Triple H, and Undertaker all go back into hibernation until next year, but by then it may be too late unless they move back to Sunday nights if they want to survive.
As for the locker room situation you have to wonder how it make other guys feel when you have ColePens, Crimson Skorpion, CPrice and Astraphobia Catalyst all threatening to leave. And there are new rumours again that CPrice could be threatening to leave again and that is not what HFWF needs right now just before AfterShock which could be the HFWFs last attempt to keep fans interested before completely abandoning the promotion. There are also rumours that if CPrice does walk he could join WWE and that may very well be the end of HFWF. Make no mistake here, CPrice going to WWE is not anywhere near Kidd, Gabriel and Danielson coming to HFWF, those three were not top stars in WWE, CPrice is one of, if not the top star in HFWF losing him will be a major blow and maybe even one that could cripple HFWF into obscurity. HFWF is at a crossroads, they had a good start and got a large fan base, but if they want to keep it they need to figure out a way to at least stay afloat until after WrestleMania or else they could very well be done. Moving back to Sundays would be start. Making sure that SheamusFan is the one in charge and not an NBC suit would be a better start, but getting the locker room cohesive, would be an the best one.
Many backstage personnel and workers have tried calling CPrice on his home phone and cell phone, but to no avail as it always goes to his answering machine. Many in the company are worried CPrice is indeed going to no-show Aftershock and leave the company. Apparently, NBC executives have tried calling him and left numerous messages, with the first one being an angry one to the last one being more sad and trying to work something out. CPrice has kept quiet and has not spoken to anyone in the company.
"I am actually as good as everyone else pretends to be, it's scary."
We have word that an NBC Executive has finally come into contact with CPrice over the phone. CPrice simply said "I don't care anymore" and hung up the phone.
We can confirm that CPrice is not angry at the "outsiders" coming in and vouched for many of them to join the company and there's other issues backstage that has made CPrice disgruntled to the point of leaving. HFWF officials are still holding out hope he'll change his mind and fly out to Las Vegas before Aftershock.
It's been reported that CPrice has been angry for a while now, and the Kurt Angle incident made him even angrier. According to close sources, CPrice hasn't been acting like his usual self backstage and seems more on edge, angrier, and what may be most telling, he's always in pain since the Kurt Angle incident, due to the three cracked vertebrae.
Higher ups in the company are hoping CPrice does show up. If CPrice doesn't show up, CrimsonSkorpion, ColePens and End of Line would be expected to carry the weight. Pushes for guys like NYGRYK, OmniSlash, Big Fat Cat and Fro would happen sooner and be rushed and the direction of the program would become even more edgy than it already is, if NBC allows it. There's rumors swirling that NBC isn't happy with the tone of the show, but understand they need to push the envelope for ratings, even more than ever now if CPrice does walk out.
CPrice sent out a tweet reading "I don't care anymore #****TheBS", but removed it as soon as he posted it.
