Wait, the Fliers need a player and they haven't even called us (LA Kings)?

I feel jilted.

We will give you Davis Dreweskie for a 4rth in 14.

He has been a 6/7 for us but really should be a 4/6 daily dman in the NHL. Solid stay at home type who plays with grit.

There has to be something we can work out......

Out of the players mentioned so far, Douglas Murray, and Sekera interest me. However I wouldn't give up Vora for Sekera.

this may sound crazy but how about erik johnson, tyson barrie and a 2014 second round pick for simmonds and couturier?
your defense would be stacked

Hah but imagine having Duchene, Stastny, radar, and couturier for centers? simmonds would also add a gritty power forward right winger who would help offense. perhaps i shoulda offered seimens instead of barrie

btw colorado has other promising defensive prospects so when they enter the league, the winger/offensive issues with the team would be taken care of with pretty decent d and good goaltending. doesnt seen too bad to me...

would be redundant would have to move one of them to wing, which has not worked thus far, so they're minutes go down the tube, and offensive totals go down. its not barrie or seimens im worried about it's EJ, he's the only one in our defence who is legit top 4, hejda is a 4# but was inconsistent last year.

I hate what I am about to suggest, but what the hey.

How about something around Emelin and Simmonds? Any + to go on somewhere?

im not a flyers fan but i feel that simmonds is worth a lot more than emelin/yemelin. i would ask for emelin and a prospect like thrower or perhaps tinordi.

I would take AE from the Habs, but for something around a prospect more than Simmonds. What do the Habs need?

To Philly:

Hjalmarsson
Clendening

To Chicago:

Laughton
Gostiphere

Doesn't make sense for either team but this is the value IMO

Clendening > Gostisbehere (Clendening already producing at a great rate in pro)

Laughton > Hjalmarsson

Why would the Habs do that? That would be as stupid as getting a stick to protect yourself and then giving it to a bully so he can inflict more pain onto you. Sheer madness, I tell you.

A better idea would be for the Habs to get three or four more guys like Emelin and lay a beating so bad on you guys that you never forget it.

That's how I see it... Laughton slightly more value than Hammer and Clen slightly more value than Gost, makes for an even trade, and flyers get what they're looking for.

Laughton, Cousins, and Noebels are all fairly respectable players.

But you'd have Couturier in the all important 4th line center role!

True, it seems pretty fair. However, I think the Blackhawks have to be excited with Clendening's game in the pro level thus far. I think if you replace him with a guy like Olsen, then it would be more fair.

He has a NMC, but I think he'd be willing to move if Buffalo isn't in the hunt so that he could be on a strong playoff team and enhance his value for next summer's free agency. Leopold is a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none, but he'd bolster depth and can play on the 2nd unit of the PP and PK.

I'd take draft picks (2nd rounders) for either Leo or Regehr. And if the Oduya trade is the precedent, both Leo and Regehr certainly warrant 2nd rounders--Oduya fetched a 2nd and 3rd.
I think you meant to say Leopold in the first sentence like the rest of your thoughts. I agree with you, this team will no longer need Regehr or Leopold in the next year or two.

To the above thoughts, Hawks should not part with Clendening - he's a great talent and his time at BU has really helped him with his first year in Rockford.

Gostisbehere could end up in that grouping very soon, too, which is a good thing, because the defenseman cupboard really IS bare. I guess Gustafsson and Bourdon still count as prospects, but there is only Manning and Ghost after them likely to be NHL guys, and Manning had that long-term injury.
