I think this is Canada's game unless Subban chokes.
Subban hasn't choked all tournament. His bad early save percentage was due to turnovers and poor play early on by his defense. Even the lone Russian goal was a horrible turnover by Scheifele right to Kucherov in the slot.
I'm not worried about Subban at all. The only choke would again be because of the D, but they have improved every game.
He had 42-44 saves.... He kind of did steal you the game....Gibson played well. In all fairness you only scored two goals....It's not like you played that well offensively as well.
You outshot us 37-32......You really think that Subban stole us the game?? Gibson played just as well. It was a tight checking and close game...Against the Russians you may be right, though the US seems to take a lot of low percentage shots.
Russia almost had their tournament ended by Switzerland today.
So you are saying since Russia had a bad night (not to forget very weak officiating) today they will most likely get destroyed by Swedes or Canadians? Let me refresh your mind by saying that Sweden could only beat Switzerland in SO just like we did and Swedish defence looks vulnerable at times.
As for Canada, just last year we lost to you in round robin, but won in medal round, so..

They barely beat Slovakia too.
They have looked far from impressive. To suggest otherwise is just homer talk.
I think a lot of Canadian fans are forgetting that their team was relatively outplayed the first match. The Americans are catching fire at the right time. Combine that with great special teams and Gibson, it should be a good match if they continue to click.
USA 5--4
Regardless, I'm hoping/praying/wishing this game isn't anything like the Czech-USA game. I don't want special teams opportunities that came from iffy and sometimes embarrassing calls from the refs to determine the winner.

So much confidence. Were you this confident in 2010? You had a better team on paper then too. The game will likely be close and special teams, bounces and goaltending will decide it. Could go either way, but I like the way the U.S. team has jelled since two tough losses. Slovakia and the Czechs played everyone tough and then with their backs against the wall got blown out by Team USA. Watch out Canada!
Rocco is going to come out big in this game and have a Grimaldi hat trick:
1. Orbit the net three times and then shoot the puck into the stands;
2. Skate around in circles so fast that you create a tornado that sucks the opposing players off the ice and into the stands at which time your teammate scores on the empty net;
3. Get down so low that you actually at one point disappear into the ice.
Going to say Canada will win this one. Been coming together as a group lately, playing a team game, played a hell of a 3rd period vs Russia. Should also have the fresher legs. Hoping for a great game though!

Gibson has been a revelation for the US. Its a shame he's only 2-2. I feel as though these two teams will be competing in another goalie battle, but it will be very high tempo and very physical, both because of the context of rivalry and where they are in the tournament, but also because Canada will undoubtedly try to test the american's legs and see if they can keep up.
I think it will go to OT/SO either 1-1 or 2-2 and I could see either teams' "grind lines" being responsible for the goals. Jenner looks fresh and pretty dominant, and players like Hartman for the US have been playing solid. I'm excited.
