A lot of pressure on Canada, but I still think we'll win this one.

4-1 Canada

Nuge with two goals

I predict a Canadian win but it would be fun with a US win just beacuse all the arrogance and overconfidence shown in this thread.

If Canada lose i predict this will be the blaming objects
1.Goalie (like every year)
2.Coaching
3.IIHF Reffing

If it is the Canada we saw against the Russians then we win 3-1 if it is the Canada we saw against the Americans last game then it is a toss up and I will say it goes to OT and who knows what happens then but because I am Canadian and from Halifax I will say 3-2 in OT with a goal from Drouin assisted by Mackinnon

If it's the Canada we saw last time against the U.S., we'll get demolished.

The Americans have yet to beat anyone of significance. They lost to both Russia and Canada scoring only once in each game.

As much as I want Canada to win, I feel like they're going to lose.

The States have a strong team, and I think Canada winning all their games is going to give them an ego. They need to start strong and really take the US seriously. I'm tired of watching fantastic Canadian teams fall apart in the elimination games.

Like last year in the WC. Canada looks fantastic, second best team in the prelims after Russia. Then loses to an average Slovakia team.

Canada plays like they did against Russia and everybody is gonna have a really tough time beating them. And Boone Jenner was a pretty huge part of that. Canada can roll three great lines and a solid energy fourth line.

Slovakia and the Czechs played everyone tough and then with their backs against the wall got blown out by Team USA. Watch out Canada!
Any team can win under the right circumstances.

2010 was a one goal OT win. I don't think I made a prediction on that game, but I would guess most Canadian fans had no clue the tournament's top scorer was playing with a separated shoulder either. That hurt the team badly. Schenn was ripping the tournament apart before that injury.

Slovaks had 9 minor penalties and the Czechs had 17. Congrats on scoring 9 powerplay goals. Neither of those two teams were too focussed on winning after giving up early leads.

I'm more worried about Canada making mistakes than USA outplaying us. If that is over confident, so be it. I think if both teams play their best games and penalties aren't a factor that Canada would win 9 times out of 10.

Last Change for Canada should be crucial here. If I'm Spott I have the Jenner line matched against Trouba to limit the transition game , and also keep him away from our top 2 lines.
Danault is also LW so would be on the same side as Trouba.

Going with 4-1 Canada

Cuz Canada is the superior team in every tournament we enter, in every single game. Losses will happen, sure, but Canada is NEVER an underdog. How many people predict the US to lose in basketball at the summer Olympics?

I'm worried because I know how dangerous the US can be, but hockey is our game and I think we'll take this one. It'll be close, and both teams will leave it all out on the ice. This in my opinion, will be the game of the tournament, with both teams hitting their strides. Hopefully we see some bad blood and the rivalry brought back. Go Canada go!

As for Canada, just last year we lost to you in round robin, but won in medal round, so..
I dont wanna get into this but maybe the Russians arent who we thought they were , everyone thought they would wipe the floor with OHL QMJHL and WHL, and they really didnt, their first game of the tournament was a poor showing and everyone says "oh Russia always plays bad the first game, this has been known for years and years" like it is some kind of automatic thing.. and then excuses upon excuses for other games, maybe they just arent that great

going to be a fantastic game, i do not expect this to be a same game during round robin. Canada will be faster, harder on puck. Im predicting a 4-2 win.
