No offense - but the Caps team I saw last year wasn't any great shakes to watch either. You can blame all of that on the coaching, but not sure I'd be crowing too loudly if I were you.
I honestly think that the Canes & Lightning will be significantly better than last year, and both could give the Caps all they can handle. Wouldn't surprise me if the Cap's don't win the SE this year. (Gotta love actually talking some hockey like I expect there to be games!)
Haha I know we weren't good. I'm saying the other teams are extremely boring to watch, even if they are competitive.
I think we'll do better under Oates. Hunter is a dirty player and an idiot if I have to say anything about it. Has no idea how to coach professional NHL level hockey.
I think Carolina could be really good and so could Winnipeg, but I'd much rather be in a division with exciting teams like Pittsburgh and the Rangers if this is the schedule.
If the NHLPA does not disclaim interest by 11:59pm on January 2, it could always conduct another player vote with a view to authorizing a disclaimer at a later date. That being said, it would be a surprise to see a re-vote. Expect the NHLPA to treat the January 2 deadline as a now-or-never scenario.
