Trust me, we aren't delighted about it either. Never mind the compressed travel, we have nothing in common with teams in the SE and no traditional rivalries.

Aka the same podium used to cancel the 04/05 season and to announce a deal. Hmmm

If you have lived and breathed hockey for long enough, going through a 3rd lockout as a fan is as close to the last straw as I could imagine.

Would any division be tougher to play in during a compressed schedule than the Atlantic ?

NJ
NYR
Pitt
Philly
NYI

That's going to be a cage match all year.

I honestly think that the Canes & Lightning will be significantly better than last year, and both could give the Caps all they can handle. Wouldn't surprise me if the Cap's don't win the SE this year. (Gotta love actually talking some hockey like I expect there to be games!)
Haha I know we weren't good. I'm saying the other teams are extremely boring to watch, even if they are competitive.

I think we'll do better under Oates. Hunter is a dirty player and an idiot if I have to say anything about it. Has no idea how to coach professional NHL level hockey.

I think Carolina could be really good and so could Winnipeg, but I'd much rather be in a division with exciting teams like Pittsburgh and the Rangers if this is the schedule.

Yeah, I live just outside of Jakarta, Indonesia. It's 8:30am here. I've got my cup of coffee and having some NHL news in the morning is nice.

Why is everyone complaining about the time?

Apparently he said today will be a bad night on sportsnet.

Back in October he did say a deal would be done after the nhls first 50 50 offer.

I honestly have no idea why you guys are still in the division. The travel is awful, especially to the Panthers and Tampa.

I hear the Caps could be getting Columbus in the next couple years.

You don't have to keep digging, some of us pay big money to watch those boring teams.

If the NHLPA does not disclaim interest by 11:59pm on January 2, it could always conduct another player vote with a view to authorizing a disclaimer at a later date. That being said, it would be a surprise to see a re-vote. Expect the NHLPA to treat the January 2 deadline as a now-or-never scenario.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they sneak in a realignment.
