waiting for this ****. not worth it.
TSN Radio should be able to stream in the US. If anything major happens, they should have something.

shouldn't get excited. 11th hour is really in one week from now. if the lockout ended tonight it would be borderline miraculous--don't get your hopes up. meanwhile, i sit here waiting still like an idiot

Its not like they are going to re-vote on this DOI. The deadline for the season is the 11th. The first round of voting took 5 days. By the time everything gets going its going to be too late unless they plan on settling things in a day or two.

The podium frenzy was a bit insane. But seriously no news for awhile would be best. If the meeting goes a couple hours I'll start to get really excited.

I actually remember not being able to get on for a while on the night of the Cammalleri/Bourque trade last January I guess it was. Not sure why though!

Haha this is how I feel. I really think this thing could go to 11:59 PM on the 11th, and it probably will, but I continue to stay on here! And make sure to stay active so I'm not logged out!

Truth. Feels a lot like December the 6th as well. It was my birthday and the negotiations were heating up. Everyone was getting on me about "getting hockey for your birthday". I had to take a ferry that day, had a radio blackout, got off the boat and as soon as my radio worked again the Bettman/Daly "hill we will die on" presser had just started.

Kind of a downer...LOL!

Why are people questioning why people are watching this thread? TSN/Sportsnet are not playing anything but replays or basketball. At least in this thread you have people from all over collecting news and posting it. Seems like the natural place to lurk for news.

Due to watching TSN I have another question. Why doesn't the guy in the Kraft Dinner commercial just make his own instead begging his friend? It takes like 5 minutes to make.

still a week before that happens.

This is set up for good news.

Much different vibe from a month ago, no negative "this might end badly" leaks still.

meeting still going as of an hour.

Wonder if the players realize that agreeing today would allow for 4 more games to be played. That's about 5% of the NHL season, which would translate to about an extra $100k for the average player.

Dan Rosen, official NHL writer:

The NHL and NHLPA have been meeting for an hour now. The media is waiting in the NHL office.

So insightful.

I figured they would have took the deal in October. Although some aspects are better right now than they were then.

So I stopped by the building a couple of hours ago and managed to speak briefly with Dreger, Lebrun and Mendes (Friedman, Kypreos and a few others were there, as well). The short of it is that none of them seemed to know a damn thing. They were all shooting the **** with one another speculating on what was going to happen. Dreger seemed to think it wouldn't end tonight...had a lot to say about this whole debate over pensions and how it's gotten very contentious. Nobody else had anything substantive to say. Only other funny tidbit was that they said that the two sides don't even meet in the same room anymore...they just fire proposals off to one another. Saw a group of players go by (Doan, DiPietro, Parros and a few I didn't recognize) followed a few mins later by Brothers Fehr. They didn't stop to speak with the media at that time but a few minutes later the media were invited inside. A grand total of about 9 fans were there to see all of this...shows how much the NY public cares about this whole thing...a lot of people walking by asked the media what the show was for...when they explained that it had to do with hockey the typical response was, "oh....*keep walking*"

While I agree - the practical side of me comes back to cost vs. benefit. The stuff left shouldn't hold this up. And if that's the case, get the deal done.

Really...? Wait 5-10 years to repopulate the league? Now who's being the stubborn one?
And that's a big 'IF'. I'm sure if 700 of the top players in the world were available... potential business owners would be looking to set up a new league.

Let's just get a deal.. ugh
