I think Jeremy Jacobs would. Hell, he'd miss 2 or 3 years if that meant he could get the players to play for 50K a year and pay their own airfare.

Either that or the PA leaves and files for DOI and this entire thing gets blown to bits and gets really ugly.

Simple.

NHL countered the PA's last proposal. Now the PA has to talk about it internally.

It sounds like Dreger was the first to break the caucus news so that means he has an inside source for the night.

Yeah me too. I been doing the same thing. I don't have a twitter account, but I do have a tab parked on Tom Gulitti's twitter. He's there covering it right now. I've seen a couple already just a minute or two ago, but one was a re tweet at Dreger saying they're caucasing, and the other was answering someones question about how long the lockout has lasted.

It just means that the NHL responded to their counter with "we'll accept this if you drop _____" or something along those lines. And now the NHLPA huddles with themselves to discuss whether they accept it or ask for something more from something else..

Basically, we seem to be past the point of proposals and at the point of tweaking one offer. At least that's how I interpret it.

They met into the night on New Year's Eve. They met again on New Year's Day, a holiday. Meeting again today. At least 4 proposals/counters during that time. It's almost 10:00 p.m. and they're still at it.

Where exactly is either side stalling at this point?

It's gotta be good if they're having a caucus to discuss the NHL's response instead of taking the night to look it over. Means they're trying to get it done.

I hope?

That's exactly who I was thinking of among the owners.

Also, we still have no specifics from any of the countless proposals and counters over the past few days.

I find this to be interesting. I do feel both sides want to get a deal done, but there are still BIG differences between both groups.

I love my team and at times, I like my owner (he spends to the cap), that said he is a full fledged miser. Nothing would make him happier then the whole World in serfdom under his thumb.

Working on the same document, absolutely. I'm thinking the PA has definitively removed any systemic differences they had with the league, and now this is all a question of numbers and not system.

I think they're more likely to come out of the NHLPA meeting, MODIFY several new things, and the deal gets done tonight.

If there was an obvious NO factor here they wouldn't be discussing it. More than likely some things they like, others they don't.

Then the NHL would have to meet seperately, propose what the NHLPA want.

Then NHLPA would accept or go over it once more, with the lockout ending when they agree to a deal.

If he could somehow get away with paying players 50K a year he'd go to the grave trying

Yeah I just don't get that guy. He was okay with Lucic, and Seguin getting big contracts when they were just gonna be RFA's. Not to mention the week before this lockout started. I'm surprised he isn't trying to lowball people. I can't hate on the Bruins though. I don't think their fans are happy with him during this lockout either.
