There's always room for discussion. Some have argued that in spite of producing zero points and sporting the worst plus/minus on Canada's blueline, Murphy was "pretty great" the last couple games and played a valuable role on the power play.
Maybe he was better by the eyeball test than the statistics suggest?
I'm not the Murphy hater that most people are. I think if he plays his game he can definitely be beneficial to this type of team. Having said that, the moments he played well were far to few, and the moments he was at his best he still wasn't actually able to put points on the board. He had a chance to prove critics wrong but I would say he probably has more critics now than before. As for Harrington, we know he is a stay at home guy and he played his role quite well. He came into the tournament last year under much scrutiny as not many people had even heard of him and was chosen over some more high profile people (including Murphy, ironically). After two tourneys there aren't many people who don't think he will be a solid NHLer for years to come. Harrington wins this competition hands down. Next topic please...
