Yeah, certainly seems that way sometimes, going through the GDTs :-)

Same here. After all the hoorah of Canada, Finland, and Russia being the medalists for sure and that Sweden would implode with all their injuries and USA didn't have the scoring I'm glad to see these two "underdogs" guaranteed the top two medals. Still think that if Gibson was able to stifle Canada and the Russians high power forward cores he should be able to do it again with a Gold on the line.

Hard to bet against the US in this one. Their defense and goaltending has just been spectacular.

Galchenyuk vs Collberg ! États-Unis vs Suède. Canada eliminated from the gold medal game. Awsome ! I can't wait for that game. I've been cheering for team USA so far. I'll continue to. Trouba and Gibson impressed me, and Galchenyuk is racking up the points. Can't wait to see him in Montréal.

All the US players need to watch at first is the first period of the Russia - Sweden game. Sweden was
incredible in the first period.

It was a sweet victory, but I don't want a consolation prize. Gold, please!

Good luck to both teams! I'm impartial as to who to root for, but I do think USA will win because they've looked very impressive since their game against Slovakia. Their D is fluid and cohesive and has worked well, and their forwards are speedy and aggressive on the forecheck while possessing immense skill. Then of course you have the tournament MVP in John Gibson. A very well-structured team, no doubt. Then you have Sweden which is a hard-working team and hasn't really been given credit this tournament, despite missing Klefbom, Ziba and others, they still have a skilled squad and play an effective team game.

USA also has Tyler Biggs while Sweden has Tom Nilsson, one Leaf prospect representative on each side

If we go by fanbase behaviour though, USA is much easier to root for

It's nice to see a change too in terms of the match-up for the gold medal. Yeah, USA and Sweden have both been there recently, but we haven't seen them face each other in a big game like this before.

Since the next tournament will be in a city 20mins away from me, I'll be catching a few of Swedens games live. I REALLY hope Sweden wins now to help gather some interest for the tournament.

If we lose it will be decent/big next year, if we win it will be huge.

Obviously being an American (and a US college hockey gal ), I'll be rooting for Team USA.

All I hope is that it's an exciting game from start to finish for BOTH teams.

I just really hope the players don't feel the same way. The Swedes are going to be super motivated to win this both to defend their gold and for the players to avenge their losses in the U18s. I hope the US can get up for this game even though it's not our arch enemy.

Usually a good game when US plays Sweden. I was surprised to see the US has won 6 in a row versus Sweden in the World Juniors and not lost in the last 10 (9-0 with 1 tie) dating back to the 1996 Quarterfinals for the last time Sweden defeated the US. Not a trend I expect to continue but hoping the US can make it one more.

I'm definitely getting behind Team Sweden for this one and it's not an anti-USA thing. Alfredsson, Karlsson, Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Lehner... You get the idea.

Both these teams have shut everyone up. Sweden loses their 4 best players and everyone writes them off and look at them. USA loses to Canada and Russia and everyone thinks they can't score and aren't capable of beating the "elite" teams. Well here we are this should be a great game. I'm rooting for Sweden but I get the feeling its the Americas year.

4-2 USA
