As much as Trouba's development has been awesome I don't think he is quite at Hamilton's level quite yet. He's had a MUCH better tournament, but it's a small sample size.
Yea you make a good point Holden. I would take either guy but went the homer route just because I have a soft spot for the Trouba prototype.

I think why the poll is tough and controversial is exactly because Trouba has provided a small sample size but its tough when he is an NCAA player and the only time most posters get a chance to see him is at a WJC. Jacob has been hot and Dougie has not quite lived up to his billing so that is why I think the poll is "currently" slanting narrowly towards Jacob. Hard to go wrong either way.

I voted Trouba just because.

...and Brown is a diver. Fans of divisional rivals hate him, but everybody else seems to love him, myself included.

Same here. I'm not really cheering for either, but it would be nice to see the Swedes repeat.

One could argue MVP of the whole thing and that's not a stretch.

I said it at the start of the tourney, this Canada team is frankly not that good...not surprised at all they look like they will fail medal for the first time in 14 years...

I really hope this puts to rest the myth Canada would win every year with all their players, it's simply not true...

Mostly agree with you, but I do think that this group of players could have won if they actually played better as a team. IMHO, more skill than the US, but didn't have the drive and coaching of that team.

Nice goal by RNH to bring it back to within 1.
EDIT: geez, terrible terrible goal off the draw on Binnington. Subban coming in. 3-1.

Yeah, it just seemed like Subban was getting ready to get in after the second goal, so I was surprised when Binnington was pulled after the third (from what I thought) again.

Wanna point out that Ryan "30 minutes of Bossing" Murphy has 2 assists so far.

You guys are focusing too much on that. He's so big and punishing in the back-end, it's not like it's bad that his points/toi is kinda low.

You know what guys? As an outsider who just kinda wants Canada to win, this game is kinda fun. I imagine it's somewhat like the Jets-Flyers game for a neutral fan.

At this stage, I'm happy with "fun to watch". Scheifele with a nice goal - quick hands to catch that pass from RNH and get a shot off.

EDIT: PS, did anyone notice both the Russians and Canadian's coming out for the warm-up skate in red jerseys? That could have been interesting had they actually tried to play like that.

That's pretty fun, cause the Swedish commentators were raving so much about Russia's incredible PK after the Swiss game.
