So top #5 of the scoring race is

#1 FIN Joel Armia 6gp, 6+6 = 12p
#2 FIN Granlund 6gp, 5+7 = 12p
#3 FIN Teuvo Teräväinen 6gp, 5+6 = 11p
#4 CAN Ryan Nugent-Hopkins 5gp, 3+8 = 11p
#5 USA John Gaudreau 6gp, 7+2 = 9p

Wuhuu!

Well he's been productive in the OHL. But maybe he wants to take over Berg's role in the Lions

Too bad that Canada still has a game left. Armia's MVP title is not in the bag yet.

Well, Switzerland would probably have been a better match as well with better coaching. The Czechs, too.
We can always go on with the "What if's", but the fact remains that we should have won Czech and Swiss. End of story. We were crap, doesn't help that our players are playing now.

Seems to be a double standard around these boards. Armia gets ripped for putting up big numbers against lesser opponents, yet Galchenyuk appears on everyone's all-star teams. I know we need to have a scapegoat, but it seems pretty unfair on Armia. Two bad games and the entire tournament is his fault.

But at best, we only need to win one game to make the QF.

A tall order, I know, but if the guys give it all they've got, they might just make it.

Is there any tournament where scoring leader's top3 are all out of tournament all star line? This would be it.

Completely agree. Both players disappointed, imo.

It's astonishing how completely lost self-deprecating humor is on Americans.

Make it top4 , RHN doesn't belong there either.

Kucherov- Andrighetto - Gaudreau
Trouba - Jones
Gibson

The bigger issue for me with Galchenyuk right now is that he's not even playing center.

Based on what? Your oppinion. At some point you have to give the other team some credit for shutting you down or taking the game to your team or flat out being better. Or realizing what you think their potential is - isn't what they are capable of. In 1 game, you can say that you had a bad game. But when you have had a few, then you have to look at the other teams and give them credit for being better.

As for playing backyard hockey - that is a coaching issue on how he wants to play the game and it is truely up to him to set up the system based on his players stregnths that attacks an opponents weaknesses and give the team the best shot at winning.

That would only bother me if he wasn't drafted last summer, but two years ago. He missed most of last year with an injury and that is a whole lot of development lost. Next year will be his year to really put on a show.

I can only hope this is sarcasm. If not, perhaps you should have actually watched some of his games in this tournament.

American humour involves making fun of others, not oneself. Also, fart jokes. To be fair, everyone makes fun of a different subset of Americans within the US, so it all evens out.
