I don't see Canada winning this one, they have no motivation, and Steve Spott as we know cannot get his guys fired up, plus Russia is on home soil and will have the crowd on their side, Canada finishes without a medal.

I don't think so. I bet most of the players are already thinking on NHL training camps and Russia will be extra motivated to salvage something for the home fans. I pick Canada to win, but really don't expect Canada to play a good game. Canada doesn't traditionally play well in bronze medal games last year not withstanding, but it was in front of a home crowd. So Go Canada Go.

It much more than just a bronze game, its a game between Canada and Russia, should be interesting for you to follow regardless.

I agree though, I think the Russian players will be slightly more motivated for the game.

Not really! I don't think the country will awake at 4 in the morning to watch the bronze medal game. I wish my boys well and hope they play a good game...but I'll be sleeping in on my final days of Christmas holidays.

My prediction of Canada not medaling is almost (see my previous posts) complete. I don't think Canada will win but hope they do. I don't think they start subban.

Who do they have next year for goalie???

They start Binnington. win 4-0 and everyone leaves scratching their heads.
Then go back home and give Tuggnutt a contract extension.

Subban doesn't deserve that treatment, wasn't his fault the defensive structure was no where to be found.

I have a feeling Subban will start, which I'm fine with.

Maybe Zachary Fucale?

You gotta figure Paterson's a front runner. Fucale will be 18, he could have a shot, although he hasn't played as well this year as last season.

Russia will win this 5-1. If Canada can't get motivated for a SF game they can't get motivated for a bronze medal game.

kinda want Russians to blow us out like Americans did to show how pathetic our team really is when it matters.

but i cannot do that, so i'm predicting a 3-2 Canada win.

I just don't think they will have enough motivation to beat Russia. I just hope they aren't embarrassed like they were today.

We need to lose this. It's the only way there will be a cleanup at the top. We need to bring in guys like yzerman and Lowe sutter and hunter. Clean the house.

I think both teams will be motivated to win this game because neither team wants to finish out of the medals or to end the tournament on a downer.

Yup, but let's consider the game's being played in Russian territory. While the Canadians want to keep the medal streak going, the Russians are surely going to feel a lot more pressure from management and the crowd to come away with the W.

I would prefer Canada loses in hopes real changes can be made to the Hockey Canada program.

I don't think there is something really wrong with the program itself. Spott was the main reason this year and bad goaltending choices in two previous years.
