Frankly, I think Garon's hurt. I have no information that indicates this (links, inside info, or anything like that) but that's what I think. And I think he's been hurt for a while. His play is just to dissimilar from what it was at the beginning of the season and I don't think it's an issue of stamina. Or, it was stamina and he got hurt from too much time on the ice. Whatever the cause, that's what I think it is.

Don’t know what you would consider a “larger sample size” but here is a recap of the Monarchs goalies since the beginning of the year which is just about 50% of their played games. It does not include the poor performance of the team during their trip to Norfolk, Hershey, Philly and WB/Scranton.
27 games since the beginning of the year:
1/1: Hauser win Providence (home)
1/5: Garon win Utah (home)
1/7: Hauser loss Lowell (home)
1/9: Garon loss Hartford (home)
1/14: Garon win Worcester (home)
1/15: Hauser win Providence (home)
1/16: Garon win Portland (away)
1/19: Garon win Worcester (home)
1/21: Hauser loss Binghamton (away)
1/22: Garon win Albany (away)
1/26: Garon loss Lowell (away)
1/28: Hauser win Portland (home)
1/30: Garon sol Lowell (home)
2/2: Garon win Hartford (home)
2/4: Garon win Springfield (away)
2/5: Garon sol Portland (away)
2/9: Hauser win Worcester (home)
2/11: Hauser loss Providence (away)
2/18: Garon loss Lowell (home)
2/19: Hauser loss Binghamton (home) (Garon pulled)
2/20: Hauser win Lowell (away)
2/23: Garon loss Worcester (away)
2/26: Garon win Hartford (away)
2/27: Hauser loss Providence (away)
3/1: Hauser loss Worcester (home)
3/2: Garon loss Hartford (away)
3/6: Hauser win Providence (home) (Garon pulled)
Hauser: 12 games (43%)
8 home - 5 wins, 3 losses (62%)
4 away - 1 win, 3 losses (25%)
Garon: 15 games (57%)
7 home - 4 wins, 3 losses (57%)
8 away - 4 wins, 4 losses (50%)
As you can see, Hauser and Garon have pretty much split the home games and have equal records regarding those games (Hauser has one more home game than Garon – Sunday’s game). It’s the away games where Garon gets the lion’s share of the action: twice as many games with twice the winning percentage. So, in actuality, Garon is outperforming Hauser in terms of winning percentages. Take away the last game in Manchester against Providence and their home records were identical.
As an aside, I was a little surprised at these percentages. I thought Hauser was doing a better job in net than Garon, but I don't think that now.
