Seto and his BFF Mitchell off to penguins for Despres + ? if it happens (if not then this is pretty pointless ).
Then again, Parise-Koivu-Heatley has been pretty good and now second with Cullen down and Bouchard on it might lift it up. How ever, if you are going to tinker with the lines, it should be done now. It get`s harder and harder to tinker with the lines, unless we have injuries.
You're missing Stoner from the lineup... he would still be ahead of Falk. Also not sure if we're going to see Brodin paired with Suter this year... I see Brodin sticking on the 2nd pair for now, and Yeo said he likes to match a big body like Stoner with Brodin's style as well... so that makes me wonder of Despres would actually be on the 2nd pairing with Brodin.
With Zucker, Larsson, Coyle waiting and Zucker and Larsson looking ready right now... I don't think that's sacrificing offense at all IMO. We're using a position of depth to help create depth at a very thin position.
IMO we don't lose much if any offense and we gain defense.
Despres is being way over rated by people. Kid has shown nothing for the value people are trying to demand for him.
This. Why do we even need him anyway? We have Suter, Spurgeon, Gilbert and Stoner solidified as four of our seven d-men already, Brodin doesn't look out of place so I think he'll stay, Scandella seems to be well-liked by Yeo and many others (not necessarily me but whatever), Falk is a decent bottom pairing/extra d-man, and Dumba will be here in a year or two. I see no reason to trade an established forward like Seto for a prospect. Now on the other hand, if it was Seto for Niskanen. . . . . . .
Seeing the defense of the signing as being "ok because he'll be the 8th Defenseman" is saying that they think he belongs as an 8th defenseman in the NHL. As I said, most others say he's not even good enough for the AHL. That is a big difference.
