I thought the consensus was that they're just bad luck.

Based on Russo's chat, top 6 currently looks like:

Parise - Koivu - Heatley
Cullen - Granlund - Setoguchi

Well, they worked very well the first couple of months.. and it's a shortened season!

Wait.. but when those avatars were created? Got to do some calculations first...

I think shuffling of the lines after a, say, 10 game stretch is almost inevitable.

Russo's PP units:

Parise-Koivu-Heatley-Suter-Bouchard

Clutterbuck/Brodziak-Granlund-Setoguchi/Scandella or Spurgeon with Cullen at the other point

Does anyone else not like having Cullen on the second line? I figured if Butch was ready that would be his spot, otherwise they'd give Zucker or even possibly Coyle a chance there. Even though I like Cullen, I still think he should be part of the third line with Brodz and Clutterbuck.

I think Cullen will be fine. Many are underrating him here, remember the start of the last season he was almost if not the best player on Wild.

Second line does seem to be problematic... too small or a guy that doesn't really on paper fit. Just think if we had Big Bear still... healthy. oh man, that would be a sweet top 6.

Apparently Russo said that there were 1,200 people in the chat and a ton of questions that went unanswered....people are excited for Wild hockey (obviously).

I miss big bear. I've got a twenty dollar bet going with a friend of mine that he was going to have at least a 40 point season before the lockout. I still think he's going to thrive in Ottawa.

Yeo's probably rolling three scoring lines and one checking line rather than two scoring, one checking, and one that never sees the ice.

I wasn't sure where else to ask this, but how many games do you guys see Backstrom and Koivu playing this season?

I think Ottawa is going to be scary good in a shortened season. They may be my sleeper pick in the east, but I still think the NYR benefit the most.

ECF between NYR and Ottawa?

Yeah, I just don't get all of the love for Pittsburgh at the moment.

My bet is that Lattendresse hasn't done much over the lockout in terms of working out and is about 30 lbs overweight. His lack of conditioning will get him hurt less than 2 weeks into the season.

I'd watch that. I'd much rather see Ottawa pull something off before Alfie retires.

You and me both, brah. It's mostly cause that goofy, bald, little imp on NBC thinks they'll be good. I think they'll be decent, but SCF good? Doubtful. I'd be surprised if they make the ECF.

Setoguchi's gonna shine getting feeds by Granlund. Cullen can play simple and hold the line together.

Good chemistry in that line, I like
