Just For Fun: Lockout Movie

Hypothetically, if Hollywood decides to make a movie about the NHL lockout, who would your dream cast consist of?

Gary Bettman-?
Donald Fehr-?
Bob Goodenow-?
Steve Fehr-?
Bill Daly-?
Ted Saskins-?
..and so on.

Bill Daly has to be played by Michael Chiklis... End of story.

I like metaphors.

And symbolism.

So, this'll do.

I could very easily see Michael Emerson playing Gary Bettman.

Not much in terms of resemblance, but he plays the manipulative power-play guy very well.

Just naming actors on top of my head.

Bettman - James Gandolfini
Daly - Bruce Willis
Don Fehr - Robert De Niro
Steve Fehr - Gary Oldman
Jeremy Jacobs - Tony Sirico
Ron Hainsey - Leonardo DiCaprio

Chris Nolan to direct... the lockout ends but the top is still spinning. NHL GM's tattoo rules to themselves so that they can remember them when they wake up each day. We find out that Dan Sedin isn't a twin but a duplicate, David Backes' middle name is Robin, Bob Mac can't sleep and Biz Nasty dresses up like a cat... just because.

Theme song... Dregerface set to the tune of Poker Face.

I'm overruling your decision and have hired Michael Bay to capture all the action. He agreed with the conditions that we work at least two explosions into the story.

Grant Williams should play Bettman. He was the incredible shrinking man back in 1957, so he's the only guy short enough.

Of course he's been dead 27 years, but so is Bettman's brain so it could work.

not sure how good of an actor he is but the guy who played Harry Buttman in bon cop bad cop is a dead ringer for Bettman. Otherwise Michael J. Fox

the guy who plays hank in Breaking Bad can be daly.

Richard Dreyfuss as Donald Fehr.

Tarantino is actually a good cast for Fehr.

Bit tall, but Hollywood can fix that. I still like Michael Emerson for Bettman.

I think the Spacey suggestion wins for the Bettman role.

If Rodney Dangerfield was still alive, I'd like to have seen him portray Fehr...as it is, a review of Tarantino's persona in Pulp Fiction would be all that's needed to land him the role.
