Saad or Kadri?

Which would you rather have? Team needs don't matter here.

Kadri strictly because of potential

I think Kadri has more upside but probably won't reach his maximum potential. Saad, on the other hand, looks like he will.

For right now though, I vote Kadri.

Give me Saad over Kadri. Love that kid, and he looks great. Size and skill. Just what the Habs need.

Kadri pretty easily.

Much better player in Juniors and in the AHL, higher upside, more proven. Frankly I don't see the argument for Saad at all.

Saad for me.

Kadri is top 6 or useless and he has yet to prove anything. Saad is a good PKer and has better size. Saad is defensively responsible and more physical...not to mention Kadri has issues with work ethic and being a team cancer. I wouldn't even consider taking Kadri honestly. It would be like taking Rob Schremp over Drew Stafford. Incredible CHL and AHL career that Schremp had!

I don't understand the 'well at least Saad could play bottom 6' train of thought. Kadri's value is easily higher than that of an established NHL 3rd liner right now. I'm not talking about Dave Bolland here, but just your typical bottom 6er. Kadri has also played at a 30 point pace in the NHL through 50 games the past 2 seasons, with 3rd line minutes and generally 3rd line teammates.

30 points might not sound too hot but it's a similar pace to players like Chris Stewart, Alexander Burmistrov and Lars Eller in 2011-2012 (with similar TOI).

So yeah, it doesn't really make sense to me to be so down on Kadri.

This is just a really poor post. I am convinced you have never even read about Kadri, let alone watch one of his games. Literally just spewing nonsense.

Because everyone thinks Kadri is the devil and refuses to play defense.

More likely he's been hyped up pretty hard since the moment he was drafted in '09 and we're all still waiting for this amazing player to show us what he's got.

Saad has had no shortage of hype around these parts.

Yes, that's true, but he earned a lot of that hype back after being projected a high first round pick and falling to the mid second round due to his supposed attitude issues, he caught fire during his last year in the juniors, I believe sporting the highest PPG in the league. Not to mention that we are now going on what, almost 4 years hearing how great Kadri is? I feel like a player that's a good as he supposedly is would be a regular in the NHL by now, and not showing up fat to training camp.

Kadri has a higher ceiling, but Saad is safer. I`d take Saad.

See, this is the problem with how this board views Kadri. "He hasn't lived up to all expectations yet at the age of 22? Wow, he must suck and be a failure of a prospect!" It's such a immature and closed-minded viewpoint. Fun fact, despite not living up to expectations as a 7th overall pick and perhaps not delivering on them as a mid-2nd rounder did, Kadri has still been a better player than Saad at every level. It is illogical to compare them based on expectations, we are not asking who was the better draft pick, Kadri at #7 or Saad at #43, we are asking who is the better prospect. Why then, is the factor that always goes against Kadri what his expectations were? His expectations have no bearing on his merits as a player really, they shouldn't have anything to do with this poll.

It's like if two players were identical defensively, one was drafted #1 overall and scores 70 points a year, and one was drafted #200 overall and scores 60 points a year. Is the #1 overall pick not still the better player? Obviously the 2nd guy is a better draft pick, but that should have no bearing on who is the better player.

It's ridiculous that Saad has 2/3 of the votes when Kadri has been the better player than him at every level, he has the higher upside and he is more proven. It shows a blatant bias.

higher upside and more proven, I think that Kadri is suffering from the backlash of overhyping that he received after his draft. The fact that he isn't as good as many expected at this point in his career doesn't mean that he is a worthless player. He will be a top 6 player in the nhl imo
