Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

Apparently you have not been reading this thread, because there have been many conversations and links from main stream media sources linking Luongo to more then just Florida and Toronto.

You said "an All-Star goalie".

I never refuted the fact that he was a Vezina nominee. He's a good player, nobody is arguing that. But, you're not getting a top prospect, a young roster player and a 1st rounder for him.

Never gonna happen. I will leave HF if it does. You can mark this post.

IF Florida acquires Luongo, I think Canucks fans better start becoming content with Petrovic, or Howden plus fillers. Looks like it's going to be Toronto though.

Has Kaberle been nominated for Norris trophy ever? Has Luongo been nominated for Vezina Trophy ever? Guess that is the difference.

When did I ask for that? Not sure who you are considering is a top prospect and who is young roster player? Please elaborate...

Not to mention that Ellerby is a left side defenseman and we are absolutely stacked there.
Shore is a bonafide #1 center in the AHL already in only his 1st year. But I don't see Tallon even offering that much.

Well, the more stuff changes, eh?

His value was levelled by fraudulent claims that the new CBA would punish any team that had a player with contract like this, and this is all but assured to not be the case. Every other negative that's been parroted we've disproven...there's no reason that we won't get the return worthy of a star player.

I think Weds we see a deal go down.

I think Connolly + Kadri + Kulemin will be what Vancouver sees.

I just don't see MG being interested in Bozak enough to overpay for him.

I think you'll be surprised. Ellerby gets undue bashing, his only fault is that there are 6 defensemen on the roster who are better than him.

And it's not just John Shannon saying it's pretty much a done deal, even Scott Morrison tonight was asked if it's inevitable that Luongo ends up a Leaf and he said "yes you would have to think so" Where there's smoke there's fire. Now we just have to find out what we get him for IMO

I'm not sure about that. I think Petrovic needs another 1-2 years in the AHL after this one. He's still kinda shaky defensively. If you want someone NHL ready next season, Robak or Ellerby.

You mean someone on sportsnet is backing what another sportsnet guy says about a trade.... gotta believe him on that merit.

I've heard this before, but sub in nearly any available star from past years and it'd likely synch up entirely. I'm not saying it's impossible, but Canadian media has a history of counting chickens before their hatched. Remember Richards being a slam dunk? Or Gaborik to Vancouver? It's possible, even likely, but I don't see this being the only outcome. We're quite poor trading partners outside of having a spare goalie, and Toronto needing a goalie.

Not sure why some mainstream media think Canucks need a depth defenceman so bad, they have Alberts as a number 7 and just signed Joslin to be just that. Canucks should just sign Vandemeer if they need any insurance, no need to waste value in a trade unless it is a clear upgrade to top 5.

Don't think Toronto is such bad trade partners, because they do have some forwards they could trade. The problem is that talking to most Toronto fans is like talking to Gary Bettman back in September.

Bettman ended up coming out on top at the end of it all.

So, I'll take that as a good omen.
