Slava Malamud @SlavaMalamud
Artyom Anisimov and Semyon Varlamov had a little farewell ceremony for the fans after the Lokomotiv game. Threw parts of equip into stands.

"Finally, it happened! I am so glad!" - a Russian NHLer's text to me, just now. Not all are enigmatic and uncaring.

Never fret, #stlblues fans. Tarasenko's agent says Vladimir will fly to STL sometime this week

With Ovechkin's quick return to DC, it is official: the new CBA doesn't cut the existing contracts "too much" #exhale
Just fyi if you're unfamiliar with Malamud - he's a bit
Bettman needs to go and other ideas to make things up to fans:
Quote:
Bettman achieved the salary cap seven years ago and forced the players to make an enormous number of concessions this time around. Even though I’m still amazed at how far the league was willing to bend on its initial hardline stance, Bettman has delivered the owners everything they have wanted and has negotiated a deal that will ensure labor peace until at least the 2020-21 season. Bettman will be 68 years old by then and while it’s not inconceivable that he could still be running the NHL at that point, it’s highly unlikely. In all likelihood, Bettman has negotiated his last collective bargaining agreement.
Amen.was coming here to point this out as well. Disagreed w EM and JM but they showed they are the best of the best. And dom man this place is lucky I would have been lost without him. And of course Dan. Keeping us grounded and reasonable. Love them.
Although i didn't agree with a lot of things you said it was good debate for the better part of almost 4 months (isn't that sad that we have to say that).. I think i'd have a beer with everyone on this board. I'd have to buy a round or two for dom, and crossfire, and the others who were bringing tweets to the table whether it was 730 pm or 230 am.
Bettman will likely retire soon, I doubt he'll be fired or anything like that. Neither of these guys will be involved in the next CBA. And I'm thankful for that.
If they did "let him go" for publicity sake it, they would no doubt do so in a big fashion for everyone to see. What they wouldn't tell you would be that they were moving him to a new position that paid more money and had better benefits.
Doubt it happens regardless, but he will have to retire sometime. And when he does, they'll get another guy in there good at what he does who will do exactly what the owners want. If the players bring in another guy like Fehr, there'd be another lockout.

First time we've agreed in 4 months.
You were the other guy I couldn't think of! Hahaha.. Very good job by you as well... It;'s over, we are all back together on the same side, so all is right in the world!

It will be fun arguing over who should be on the power play... the theories of injuries when guys aren't playing up to potential.. trade deadline (wait.. no trade deadline i assume right? i don't remember hearing anything about it). Either way it will be fun.
I'd go with Bill Daley, he came off to me as someone sincere about wanting to get the season underway. Or maybe Mario Lemieux, lots of recent relevant experience from both sides.

I only listen to others telling me what to do with my life if they submit to me a full list of their interests so I can make suggestions on what they should drop or add.
I bet I'd actually like telling people how to live their life.
I say give the job to Gretz. He's the face the league needs going forward. And he doesn't want to get rid of fight....thought you'd like that.
Anyhoo, screw em....screw em all. It's nice that they've settled things but I am done for the season. No games, no merch (won't even wear existing items with an NHL or team logo) and most of all, no games on TV or radio. I can in good conscience sheep my way back.
