I don't understand though, what deadlines have moved? NHL said 'we start canceling games if no agreement by his date' there was no agreement by that date and the NHL cancelled games. The NHL then said, if no agreement by his date, not possible to reschedule and have 82 game season. No agreement, and no talk since then of 82 game season. NHL said winter classic will be cancelled, it was. Yet, here we still are hearing players say the league isn't serious with its deadlines.

With that said, I doubt the season gets cancelled on the 11th if the league feels a deal is imminent but to play chicken with it is wreck less.

If a player doesn't like the ruling, can he walk away and become a UFA?

I like it. I mean, they're only 1 year deals. Some teams are real stingy, maybe they will simply lower the amount of arbitration cases (which is always a good thing.. they are messy things)

God I ****ing hate everyone involved in this whole thing. I'm MORE pro-owner than PA, but it's certainly not like I like them either. But the players and their pettiness and their greediness and their continually adding new issues, along with Fehr's unprofessional tactics have me at my wits end. This lockout is the worst thing that ever happened to me as a fan, for one reason; I'm at the point of resenting virtually every player in the NHL after all the quotes and anecdotes I've read following this thing. So many players that I liked or had no dislike for are now players that I firmly dislike. It's going to be much harder to root for any of them. Obviously, I root for my team regardless of who wears the jerseys, but I've always followed and cheered for players on every other team throughout the league and now I feel like I simply dislike them all. At least I can still cheer for Rangers wins, regardless of personnel, but this lockout has really ruined my perception of the players.

I think there's a rule that the team that walked away has a right to match up to a certain percentage, don't they?

If I'm the league, that may be a compromise I throw out - the team can still walk away, but there's no matching figure, essentially putting the player in a 100% free market position.

I think we can fit a 5 game season into April.

Don't know how Bieksa can say deadlines don't mean much. Every time the NHL has said they'll cancel games, they have. And his quote wasn't even funny. This lockout has changed Bieksa, man. He's not about the music anymore.

I'm curious- which deadlines have been moved or changed?

No CBA by September 15, players will be locked out. Did that happen?

A CBA by October 26 and you can play 82 games. When that deadline passed, did the league ever mentioned another possibility of an 82 game season?

No CBA, games will be cancelled at least in two week intervals. Did this happen?

It seems the only deadlines that have been moving and changing are the ones that the PA have set for themselves internally because the league seems to have made good on all their deadlines thus far. And it wasn't until recently that the league issued a real deadline before a season is cancelled so I don't know what Bieksa is talking about.

What do you expect the idiot to say. He's one of those guys that had a "Puck Bettman" hat on. LMFAO, these guys are like little kids. They are so tied in to Fehr and whatever he says, they're all brainwashed IMO. It's a freakin cult.

Not sure why someone would walk three blocks though. Can't they just have it in the same building with seperate rooms? It would be alot quicker.

Wasn't there a November deadline for an 82 game season?

Did he really? Yeah I mean alot of them truly are, I wouldn't be surprised if Kane and Semin were in these negotiations. Very immature by both sides, but alot on the players too.

All 30 owners should to be taking names of all these players saying they don't trust them and remember that when they come looking for contracts.

I was laughing to myself about the towels thing. But then I remember complaining about them at a 3 star hotel in Cuba. Maybe in another life I was a spoiled sports player, or maybe its not so ridiculous after all.

Towelie would make for a good rep at the meetings.
