@Real_ESPNLeBrun: If it's a 50-game season it would start Jan 15; if it's a 48-game season it would start Jan 19

I'd like to think the players would have open scrimmages or training games for fans as a "thank you".

Start on the 15th please. The sooner the better. But I think 19th is more likely.

nice if its 15th, here in sweden we have had nice times with stars in pur leagues, specially my frolunda with Matt Duchene and Stalberg, and Hank was on every game etc.

But i like NHL more, and to be wake on the night to see my Rangers

Seeing as they've tentatively agreed a deal it'd absolutely farcical that they'd not be able to get a start from this.

Posts like these are going to be so irritating from now on.

"It wasn't a real season so team X isn't a real Stanley Cup champion", and other ridiculous assertions.

I hope the season starts on the 15th. I would prefer 50 over 48 for sure.
Think we see a schedule this morning, or tomorrow, or when??

What is so ridiculous about it?

You are 100% correct, however, not in person and it will not have anything close to the same meaning as it has in the past.

My family are charter member season ticket holders. I have already made plans to unload all my tickets. I am not about to pay the standard rate for this farce. I have seen it before.

It's ridiculous because it is absolutely still the NHL, regardless of how mad you are.
Why is it going to be horse manure? It's ridiculous. I understand your emotional, but really, smarten up.

Of course the fan reaction is negative this time around because of all the media attention on the lockout and all the information floating around the cyber world. We fans had more access to information than we did at any time in 1994. In 1994-95, it was a very exciting season and the Art Ross battle alone was great.

It will be a race to the finish line this year and teams will have to play all out every night as the playoffs race will be closer than ever.

I completely understand your point. Still try to enjoy the game, even on TV.

How? It's the same players playing the same game under the same rules.

You can be all negative like this or you can watch hockey and enjoy it like you used to.

Do the right thing

I would only be emotional if I did not have the ability to unload my tickets. I would have cancelled the whole thing by now if it were up to me.

Several of my seat mates feel the same way you do and use them for client entertainment and have kids that play. Luckily, I am off the hook financially.

You can imply that I may not be "smart" all you want. It is nothing more than an opinion. One that is based off seeing this shortened season stuff once before.

You wish buddy. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to see a Penguin win the scoring race again though, a much more realistic wish. Also getting the Cup of course.
