@News1130radio: A US mediator managed to get a small group of members from the #NHL and #NHLPA in the same room today to discuss ending the lockout.

Doesn't this always happen with the NHL? No one thinks it's going to happen, and it just does out of the blue?

I'm suggesting they should have saved the theatrics and kept negotiations going if they really wanted to get a deal done then or any point before that.

I can't argue that. I still don't like him nor do I like the NHLPA hardliners.

Yes, and this is old news, and had the NHLPA stuck with the script they would have.

Done...done....and.....done.

Probably not, but I have been optimistic from the beginning so I really hope so.

I was just on 4chan and I saw a picture of Brett Skinner smiling on the bench and it made me realize how much I ****ing miss the NHL. Just Brett Skinner on the bench, I'm not even a Canes fan but holy hell would I love to watch some Brett Skinner right now.

No one likes the hardliners on either side, they're the reason we're still in this mess.

So the E5 tweet amounts to: 100% sure it might be done soon
If wrong, I said might, if right, "IN YOUR FACE"

Good to see mediator getting them closer and closer.

Been cautioned there is still work to be done. Don't forget the disclaimer vote at 6:00 p.m. looms large. #NHL #NHLPA

Here's Bruce to throw a bit of cold water on it. The infamous "Still work to be done". yawn

The NHL ended up coming back with an offer anyway, why did we need the blow up?

Even though I understand why it's said and I realize that it's important to be patient, "still work to be done" might be the most maddening phrase in this whole thing.

We really should lower our optimism until the deal is agreed in principal. We've been burned before.

But for gods sake lets get this done
