NHL should give a little on cap and variance and stay firm on length

Except in Nashville, where The Tennessean headline will read, "Carrie Underwood's Husband Back To Work."

I say we name a rink after him. What about that new place that's planned for Edmonton?

Here we go again lol

Seems to be more optimism on the NHL side than the PA side, which is interesting. It has been PA saying they're close, NHL saying not.

The NFL/football is not even a damn SPORT in my opinion. The players run routes that are pre-arranged by the coaches and are not supposed to have minds of their own. It has more in common with "war games" than sports. Take away the hype and there's hardly anything left underneath. Hockey is so much better to play and watch that there is no comparison.

The subtitle can be: "Now can someone show him where the airport is?"

Variance? Isn't it at 20% already? What do the players want it at?

You do realize they adjust their routes, right?

Run the same route with a guy like Megatron then run it with Nate Washington. Let's see who wins

The mediator isn't allowed to share information without both parties in the room.

On top of that, there is a FEDERAL mediator who is thoroughly aware of the goings on between the PA & their union leader.

I would think his testimony would be indisputable.

I'd bet they will wait until Monday or Tuesday afternoon to announce a deal. That would give them tomorrow to get their ducks in a row. Plus as mentioned an announcement today would be buried behind the NFL this weekend. Tuesday would be best for maximum exposure and they need all the public relations help they can get at this point. That would also allow for camp to open on Thursday or Friday for the 19th.

I know!! Boomer needs to grow a pair and become the ambassador to making hockey a part of the conversation in NJ/NY.. But he lets Craig walk all over him about it

Francessa is just a POS and I find it ridiculous that everyone at The FAN is soooo pro-Rangers (when they are permitted to mention hockey) and acts like the Devils don't exist, when the Devils are broadcast on their station and the Rangers play on their rival station

Yeah CBA term has been agreed upon (10 years) the only dispute there is the players want an out after 7 years and the NHL wants an out after 8 years but the NHL also wants notification to be given after 6 years if one side does want to re open the CBA and they also want the CBA to expire June 30th not Sept 15th.

Minor issues really as far as the CBA term goes so the big three are:

-contract lengths (NHL proposes 6/7 while NHLPA proposes 8/8 but rumour has it they are willing to go 7/7).

-Variance

-Cap for 13/14 (NHL proposes $60.2m while NHLPA proposes $65.0m)
