Steve Spott will never coach a serious professional hockey team after this tourny.

He used OUR hockey team as his own little club.

I feel bad for Carolina Hurricanes fans. You might as well write off Ryan Murphy.

Really? I thought he was completely useless for the first 40 minutes of the game. He had a strong third, but I expected more out of him in the games he played for sure.

He would have been, but this team was really a mess. I'm not sure he alone would have turned all those defensive partnerships into cohesive competent units. This team has high level talent. They played well below their collective talent.

My(?) mentioning of Murray wasn't a joke. It wasn't an excuse either though.

Our D was extremely shaky with no true number one. Murray would have been that guy and I believe that would have really helped out the team.

Tough to complain about Murray when Sweden is actually playing without what...3 or 4 key d-men? But either we weren,t as deep as we thought we were....or we made a mistake by not inviting guys like Corrado or Sproul or Pelech.

Did MacKinnon get any icetime at all? Is Drouin that much better?
Funny thing though, MacKinnon probably will be drafted before him anyways....

Canada need to fix its goaltending asap.

Can't believe Russia started Marakov...Vasilevsky would have won the game in regular time, no doubt.

I turned off my stream. Did anything untoward happen during the handshakes (if indeed they had them).

Sure they can, just because this draft class didn't do it doesn't mean it might not be a valid argument in the future. Situations can be independant of each other.

You guys make it seem you're being charitable when someone else beats you without your top guys. this time Canada had them, the gap between canada and the rest of the world is quickly being shortened

Sad thing is that Canada won't probably entertain us with bringing lamps again

Why doesn't Hockey Canada hire a full-time National Junior coach, like a Pat Quinn or a Craig Mactavish, pay them well, and have them travel to all Junior leagues as well as the NCAA, scouting year round and holding regional selection camps intermittently.

That way you don't have to poach a coach from his long bus rides to rural cities in Canada to suddenly coach a bunch of kids he hardly sees play, and favors kids from his home teams/leagues.

Maybe it was too dark for Canada in OT?
