Canada's worse defense core in a long time... starting with Murphy to lead them.

Can't help but think how much better this team would have been with Ryan Murray on the back end. He was the missing piece.

Why the **** were Rielly and Murphy on the ice in overtime? Can someone explain that to me?

Even a casual observer of the game can see that they're both defensive liabilities. It boggles the mind that they played even 1 second of hockey as a pairing in this tournament but in OT of a medal game?

It was the winger on Rielly's side who scored the goal, no? If Rielly doesn't bring himself completely out of the play then Murphy doesn't have to get beat like that. Both are to blame, never should have been out there together.

Yes, and it begs the question, can that line be used in the future? Or will this result invalidate that?

I couldn't after the taunting. To shake their hands wouldn't be sportsmanship it would be masochism. .

Russian kids taunting will be seen as classless now and then as passion when they hit the NHL. LOL at Yakapov being so happy to win a bronze.

Lots of blame to go around for Canada but blame Team Canada themselves. This is what happens when you bring a bunch of softies on D. Sure they had skill but they weren't well rounded at all.

It was ages ago we saw a max age 1st overall pick in the WJC's and its possible that we never will see one again, and with the puck RNH is as dominant as he should be. But 5 on 5 he just don't get it. That's on the Canadian players around him and on their coach.

I think we would have been better off without the nhlers, Spott might actually have played Drouin and MacKinnon together.

Other than RNH where the "NHLers" really that much more help?

Rielly-Murphy should never have been a D pairing. Rielly pinches a little bit expecting Murphy to move to the left. Of course Murphy has the defensive awareness of Phil Kessel so that doesn't work out, and then he just gets burned.

Spott needs to go.
That's my view too. Murphy never should have been out there to make that weak play in the first place

I feel like Spott's coaching would've led them to the same outcome. Not really sold on anything he showed me this tournament.

Always show class regardless of how your opponent behaves. They'll be pros soon so... they need to learn.

Congrats Russia. You sucked but not quite as bad as ryan Murphy. You're welcome.
Murphy is what he is - a PP specialist. He had no business being on the ice in an ES strength situation in OT - that's on Spott, he simply didn't put his players in a position to succeed.
