So impressed by the USA defense. Sticks in every freakin' lane possible. And not just the defensemen, but the forwards really helped out alot. A great team effort by them. Props!
Conrats to the U.S. a well deserved Gold Medal. TSN said that there are 9 Canadian Hockey League players on the U.S. roster. Is this the most CHL players ever on a U.S. under20 team, That is interesting since last year didn`t they leave off the team a couple of Americans who were excelling in the

Last year we had 7 CHL players, this year we had 9.
Zibanejad (best Swedish player last WJC), Brodin (best defenceman by far), Klefbom (AST last WJC), Lindholm (would've had a pretty good shot at playing for Anaheim in the NHL if there hasn't been a lock out).
On top of that we lost two other players just before the tournament started.
Of course they would've made a huge difference for us.
But....we saved our worst game for the final.
Sure they COULD have, but they didn't. And who knows. I could make up a million hypothetical situations as well. What if all of them were on the team, then some of them got hurt, and the chemistry was all off. Then they don't win a single GAME! What a huge difference that would have been.
Other than Al-Quida, there is not an anti-USA organization in the world than the IIHF. Fassel's worst nightmare is having to give gold medals to US players.
My points still stands. Sweden > Finland. By alot right now.

With Klefbom, Brodin and Lindholm it definitely could've been another outcome. You deserved the win this game however. Congratulations.
We've heard this tune being played by SOME (which means not all) Canadians so many times. Let us not go down this road as well. You play with the team you have.
That 2nd fluke goal by Grimaldi stings but the reason the US won this tournament is because they were the best team, the gold winner is always the best.
Congrats to the US and I expected to feel like a Finn if we lost (a sad depressed figure) but I feel surprisingly ok. Sweden did have injuries on key players and I am proud of this team. We got beat by someone better and I'm ok with that.

And they get home-ice advantage next year. If they would have won it this year, you could have talked about a potential dynasty in the WJC.
