Hypothetical Regional North American Teams?

Anyone want to give their shot at filling out rosters for the following states/provinces/regions?

Team Southern Ontario

Team Northern Ontario

Team Quebec

Team Manitoba

Team Saskatchewan

Team Alberta

Team BC

Team Atlantic Provinces

Team North (incl. Alaska)

Team Minnesota

Team New England

Team NY/NJ/PA

Team Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan)

Team South (Everything South of Midwest and NY/NJ/PA and East of the Mississippi plus Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma)

Team West (Everything else in continental US + Hawaii)

Manitoba can't really fill out its own roster

Forget about it. Pominville slides right into that second line, although you seem to have the wingers on the wrong side. Him with Bergeron and preferrably Perron or even Burrows would be a real complete line. Did you know Pommer and Burrows played together on the Shawinigan Cataractes? Instant chemistry!

I went GTA, it would be impossible to make an actual Toronto that would be remotely close to competing

Are these lineups not hypothetical? He was born and grew up in Quebec. Are we gonna put him in whatever lineup representing where his mother was born? He was probably there from time to time since his parents met when Jean-Marie was playing minor league there. The state of New York is otherwise my best option, considering his long tenure in Rochester and Buffalo.

This just got me thinking about some comic clip involving Getzlaf. He was lacing Perry up for scoring 50 goals, and he said something when Selanne asked for the same thing, yada yada yada: "That is not how it works when you come here to america." Is this not kinda odd, although americans and canadians surely have many things in common wether they like it or not, and of course "america" MAYBE can be said about both countries.

A very solid forward group for a relatively small state. The defense however.... Ryan Suter might need to play sixty minutes.

I know that internationally he plays for the USA, BUT, he was born in Québec. So if we are going by state / povince, he plays for QC

Of course he's a Quebecer, but he wouldn't be be allowed to play for a Team Quebec if hypothetically there was one, that's why I didn't include him.

The IIHF dont allow more than one team per nation. Therefore Quebec needs to become a state and if others are allowed to change affiliation, then former americans should too. I guess. I dunno, you may be right. When czechoslovakia split players formerly playing for them just got to choose between Czech Rep. and Slovakia, so if these regional teams would surface now then he may not be able to play for them. If they would have existed all the time i'll bet you that they would have asked him to play in the WJC though, which would have made him inegible for any american regional squad.
