Kopitar Injured - Out 3 Weeks

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=412884

Los Angeles Kings centre Anze Kopitar is expected to be out three weeks after suffering a minor knee injury while playing in Sweden Saturday, GM Dean Lombardi confirmed to ESPN.com.

"Got tangled up in the corner and it felt funny," Kopitar told Swedish sports journalist Linus Hugosson on Saturday. "Taking this seriously."

That's a bad break for Kopitar. Right before lockout ended too. I really like the guy, and hope for a speedy recovery.

Wonder how the lines will look. I bet Carter goes back to center.

that will probably happen although I wouldn't mind Loktionov getting in a game or two with Brown and williams.

Sorry I disagree 100%. I have seen nothing from Loktionov that shows he could center the 1st line like this. He's just too small and does not play bigger than his size to warrant 1st line ice time. Maybe I'm biased but I have not been impressed whatsoever with his play when he has gotten the chance.

regardless of whether you like him or not, if he doesn't end up being a regular for us, at least try to inflate his trade value a bit . he's shown nothing in the nhl so far. a good 3-4 game stretch to start with Brown and Williams may get some other teams somewhat interested.

I have to keep telling myself that Kopi is out for 3 weeks, but it will be a few weeks before the season starts so he won't miss as many games as it sounds. With that said, if it's only for 3 games it's worth a shot if it shoots up his value.

Kopitar has bad timing with injuries, one takes him out of the playoffs, the other one is just before end of lockout. On the bright side he doesn't get injured a whole lot (knocks on wood).
