Definitely, it is a long shot.. But he is in pretty good shape right now and has got more veteran experience over the others. but like you said he hasn't played much hockey in the past 2 years so I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Agreed, as an added bonus it frees up Tangs and Cammy to actually play wing.

I'm thinking

Cammalleri - Tanguay - Iginla
Cervenka - Stajan - Hudler
Baertschi - Backlund - Glencross
Comeau - Jones - Stempniak/Jackman/Begin?

Giordano - Wideman
Bouwmeester - Butler
Brodie/Smith - Sarich/Babchuk

Kipper
Irving

If Cervenka lives up to his 1C potential:
Tanguay - Cervenka - Iginla
Cammalleri - Stajan - Hudler
Baertschi - Backlund - Glencross
Comeau - Jones - Stempniak/Jackman/Begin?

Our Top-9 wingers look freakin' amazing.

Our top 9 wingers DO look good. Hence why two 20 goal scorer's are on the 4th line!

But wait......we are destined for 14th in the west. Cuz our team sucks

I hope he does but I feel like he will probably be on the 2nd line with Hudler.

Both played their best last season paired with the other.

Hudler had some great things to say about Cervenka and Tangs and I believe Cammy were even noting you can tell how skilled he is.

I really like this as we can switch Cammy and Glencross for more of a shutdown line with Stajan and Glencross. I think I would rather have Stajan between Tangs and Iggy as Stajan was on fire his first full year between them until got hurt he is also a 50%+ centermen which could be a huge advantage having Iggy and Tangs have the puck the majority of the time. It also allows Cervenka to play with Hudler who is the only one who can really communicate with Cervenka since his English is rather poor. If Cervenka can't handle taking draws in the nhl it also allows Cammy to move to center and give him a try.

I also think it is smart to keep Jbo and Butler together as they proved they can long alot of minutes but with reduced ice time Jbo could be alot more effective especially if they get the 2nd lines instead of the first lines.

Tanguay - Stajan - Iginla
Cammy - Cervenka - Hudler
Baertschi - Backlund - Glencross

He was able to practice for 45 minutes yesterday so if he misses anytime it shouldn't be much.

If Stajan (and Backlund) can rediscover their game under Hartley, that's a bloody well balanced attack, especially with a 4th line of Comeau - (Jones/Begin?) - Stempniak

Best thing that could happen out of camp is that the Flames don't need to use either Tanguay or Cammalleri as centres.

Under Hartley in a full year I think Stajan could be a 50+ point player again I think I would trade Stemps for a pick but thats just me.

This. Stempniak is not a fourth line player. With the offensive flare on this team there is no room for Stemps. Get some of our picks back by trading him and Babchuk. Trade both of them for an average prospect and a mid-round pick

I would give Stemps away just give a prospect a shot.

And that's when the injuries kick in and we're boned.

I don't know if its worth it. Its nice to have depth and if we happen to get unlucky with injuries, it would be nice to have Stemps jump in and provide some secondary scoring

We have Comeau, Horak, Nemisz, and Byron we shouldn't be keeping guys around just incase.

Babchuk on the other hand I would practically give away for free. Besides the Booming slapshot, this guy is useless.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited for the year. But if our centre depth is:

Tangauy
Backland/cervenka
Stajan
Jones

We are going nowhere. Even if we squeeze into the post season, this team does not have enough centre depth to win a series against a legit po team. Oh we'll, I'm excited regardless. The infusion of offense, bartschi, and the ??? Around cervenka are enough to get me pumped. At least feasted tried to get creative this offseason.

This team has enough offense to do some damage, but the lack of two way players and size will hurt them in tight games. It's hard to activate an offense when you can't win a face off to save your life.

I'd like to see us go with this;

1. Cammalleri - Tanguay - Iginla
2a. Baetschi - Cervenka - Backlund
2b. Glencross - Stajan - Hudler
4. Jackman - Jones - Comeau/Stempniak

If Tanguay is actually going to start off at Center, then that will probably end up being our top line, and Backlund if im not mistaken played on the wing in europe throughout the lockout where he played quite well.

From what I've heard, not really good, but not terrible either.

For the Flames, that's almost an improvement.
