Will Columbus be swapping places with Winnipeg in the Southeast?

Heard a rumor that Columbus is likely moving conferences for the 12\13 season. If so, does Columbus make the most sense to switch conferences for this half season?

Was emphatically denied, apparently.

Maybe next year.

You mean the 2013/2014 season right? Because a realignment doesn't just happen in 2 seconds.

No, my guess is they'll change the conferences drastically in 13/14.

Any source? Or did a friend just tell you this?

I really don't mean that to sound sarcastically, I am being serious.

Well, he did say it was his guess. I haven't seen anything but speculation on the topic, myself. I am hopeful for some big restructuring during the next off-season. I don't think there's time left to make any changes in time for this season though. They've got other issues to iron out and not a lot of time.

My point, if they were going to realign (even the slightest like OP is saying), they have no time to do it now. Would obviously happen next year.

There were several sources saying that a format fixing the time zone problem would be put in effect next year. The rumor I was talking about was posted in several articles from unreliable sources I guess but they were regarding this season.

And that's why he said 13/14 in his second post for drastic realignment.

The Winnipeg/Columbus swap is that easy ONLY if it's for one season before drastic realignment. But long term, Winnipeg should not be in the Central instead of Minnesota or even Dallas.
