Figured this one was likely coming. I thought Sieloff looked amazing at times last year.

Per Hockey News on July 16 2013

They say that Yasin Cisse signed an AHL contract with St-Johns (Winnipeg affiliate) and Kyle Bigos with Worcester (Sharks Affiliate).

I haven't heard any of these before. Do you have other links ?

I guessed Gaudreau because there was some local media speculation (Or was I reading that here on HF?) during development camp that he might play out his NCAA eligibility and then go UFA. I'm getting cynical enough that if the media is going one way then reality must be heading in the opposite direction.

Call it the Costanza principle.

Sinitsyn, Matheson, Noonan and Gillies aren't Fs. I'm going with Gaudreau as well.

Even though I C+Ped that I missed the 'forward' part.

But it turns out all our speculation was for naught

*Colin Miller. One of the better skating D-men at development camp two weeks ago.
Miller, 20, had 20 goals and 55 points in 54 games with Sault Ste. Marie of the OHL this past season. He was a 5th round pick, 151st overall, of LA in 2012.

I know this is late, as that is now old news but Gaudreau is committed to finishing his degree before turning Pro.

I may be a little ignorant...but why did "Corban Knight" get such a big entry level deal? I know it's all bonuses, but still, that's usually reserved for #1 overall picks and such right?

He wouldn't be the first person to say one thing and change his mind when an offer he can't refuse comes along (In this case from the Flames).

That being said given my prediction skills and track record I have every confidence that Gaudreau will have a rich and rewarding completion to his college career.

I believe Knight was on track to become a UFA which prompted Florida to trade him to Calgary. In order to sign him, Calgary gave him the inflated ELC else Knight could have tested the market in August. Tyler Bozak got a similar deal out of college as well, ditto Justin Schultz.

NCAA free agents can have more leverage in this regard. As you mentioned, the bulk of the deal are incentive bonuses, so a team might feel safe offering a max deal to a less than elite prospect in order to add him to the fold. The Islanders gave Anders Lee (6th round, 2009) a bigger ELC than Casey Cizikas (4th round, 2009).

For those curious about ELC performance bonuses:

http://www.capgeek.com/faq/how-do-en...racts-work.php

Calgary gave Knight the max. $2.85M in P. Bonuses ($0.85 of Schedule A and $2M of Schedule B). Schedule B is basically out of the question, unless he is a contender for the Calder, since those bonuses are reserved for major awards. And most of Schedule A seems pretty unlikely (20 goals, 35 assists, 60 points, 0.73 PPG, top 6 in ice time, top 3 in +/-, or an All-Star game selection).

So basically, it's just a 2 year, 2-way $990,000 contract.

Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed forward Ronalds Kenins.

Kenins, 22, spent the 2012.13 season with the Zurich Lions collecting 17 points (3-14-17) and 12 penalty minutes in 45 games played.

Holding off on adding Jooris until I can confirm he's signed an NHL deal and not an AHL one.

Finally got the first post all updated. I keep forgetting about it as I've started work on next season's rookie list, which I figure I'll put up September/October-ish.
