Was scrollng through some of Chris Block's tweets and absolutely loved this one - in reply to someone asking if Nick Leddy would make the Blackhawks:

@ChrisBlock
Yes. People who tell you Nick Leddy sucked here have no concept of reality. Adam Clendening could tell you how solid Leddy was.

Funny. Never would've guessed Chris felt that way from the few podcasts of his that I've heard.

I just read an article with Carcillo saying he is in his best shape in years, nothing about the other two though. The goalies are the ones I am most worried about.

Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc
Those #Blackhawks not yet practicing here in Chicago are Emery, Rozsival, Montador and Oduya.

Oduya and Rozsival have to return from Europe, I think. I'm not sure about Montador's health status. I'm not sure what's keeping Emery away. More important things to do?

Rehab, maybe afraid to show up because he'll be asked to leave within a couple days, who knows?

Training camp hasn't started, nobody needs to be there yet.

What a coincidence only one of the four doesn't have a reason not to be here and it is you know who. I'm not surprised at all.

You have no idea what he is doing right now, how do you know he doesn't have a reason not to be there?

And again, he doesn't have to be there yet.

I never heard that Montador was cleared to play but I also read that he twitted it's not over till it's ratified.

Just googled Emery and never knew he was 6'2. Sure doesn't play like a 6'2 goalie.

it would be nice if he seemed keen to get a jump on the season with the rest of his teammates. did he every join any of their on-ice sessions during the lockout? i know crawford did.

During that time was when he was pictured driving around with Yakupov so I am going to guess no.

Who knows, but Emery is a freak when it comes to working out and preparing himself. I wouldn't worry about him not being there, he'll be in shape and ready to go.

Sens are apparently sniffing around Hjalmersson again.

I don't think there's anything I'd want from the Sens within reason.

Wouldn't mind something like Hammer for Smith and Bishop

I would take one of their goalies and a 2nd rounder for Hammer. It will solve our future goalie issue, make Crawford a backup, clear cap space for #2 C and add missing 2nd round pick. Lets face it Hammer can only play between 15-17 minutes a game.

Defense will look like:
2-7
27-Rozi
8-5/Brookbank

if that's the case, regardless of how much hockey he's been playing, his legs will be shot...

Sens want to add a DMan, they wanted Hjammer before. Makes sense. I'd want Lehner, not Bishop

Yes. The radio show just said now that Leddy is gone the Hogs defense will be much better considering his promotion.

Well, considering he is a defenseman who stinks at playing defense......

Means nothing. Pasani had a job in the NHL and didnt deserve it either. Leddy has been in the league for two years and is still a pylon in his own end. As I said, I cant blame the kid considering Blowman obviously wants him and his turnoveresque style of defensive play playing on a team that is trying to win another Cup. Thats on them. Doesnt mean he belongs there and if had the choice of defensive dissapearance, I would have chosen Clendening since he is much better on the PP then Leddy and just as good a skater. But thats just me, of course.

And is brutal in his own end. Points mean very little when Nick Leddy, first and foremost should be able to keep the puck out of his own net. His points defeat the purpose of him actually being there considering he is a defenseman. Scoring 20 points in a shortend season means very little if he is on the ice for 30 goals against. And there isnt anyhting from the look of his play to even fathom he tried to work on his defensive game. He didnt.

Stop yourself. Considering the way the game is played in this day and age, you would think wasting a roster spot on somebody to play defense who is a defenseman would be a no brainer. But alas, obviously Nick Leddy gets a pass for some strange reason?

Well, it didnt when he was in Rockford, just sayin.
