That's what I'd like to see aswell. No reason those two wouldn't be able to handle it, especially against the likes of the Sedin's who have no interest in playing defense.

Not to mention, these lines aren't set in stone. Could always put Hossa with Bolland and try to recreate the scoring/checking line of Ladd/Bolland/Havlat.

A few random camp notes: CHI would like to see centre David Bolland in more offensive role. May start with Sharp and Kane as linemates

I feel like that happens every year and then after we get smashed by a team with actual depth we realize having two lines doesn't work.

Love it. Bolly has such underrated offensive ability. Wanted him on the second line for years. He was drafted as the second line center of the future at one point. Still believe he can have a Kesler like impact given the chance. I'd rather see him with Hossa though and keep Kane with Toews.

If Bolland plays second line center who plays third line center? Kruger?

It's hard to disagree with that assessment.

This looks so weird.

Bolland and Hossa have had issues with chemistry in the past right? I like Bolland at 2C but I feel like Hossa is the best option for RW, if not for the chemistry.

And with that lineup we have only 1 C who can win a faceoff

Jesus. No hockey sense/defensive awareness Bickell (who is playing out of position at that) and two small guys on the fourth line without much offensive talent and no physical game and one with no offensive game at all and is more of an enforcer. (also playing out of position) Love Carbomb, but he should not be in the top 6 at all.

Thank god these lines aren't set in stone.

play Shaw out of position in that important roster spot? Rather see Kane as #2 C again than this lineup.

Bowman better find a deal for a Center

Meh.. Shaw's been a center all his life up until the latter part of the AHL season. But BWC is right... One center who can win faceoffs is just bad.

The Hawks solutions to lineup issues are just laughable

It would be like Bears moving Cutler to WR , Bennett to HB and Forte to QB as solution to OL problems

Roszival and Mayers were the 4th D pair in case anyone was wondering where they went. Mayers playing D in practice today because Montador is injured and Stanton isn't in Chicago yet.

They also recalled Pirri and Saad, I hope we keep Bolland at 3C and I would like to see Pirri given a decent look as the 2C.

Maybe Stan will address the lack of C depth next year. Whoever said the Hawks solution to the issue is laughable is spot on.

You guys see Saad making the roster this year? And if he does, will he play a lot?

I saw too many "practice lineups" last season to get excited/scared about any other practice lineups. This is hardly set in stone, if not only for today. Unless Bowman and Q think having 5 AHL guys in our bottom 6 is acceptable...

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with (structure)...

Stalberg-Toews-Sharp
Carcillo-Kane-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Shaw
Frolik-Mayers-Kruger

Carcillo isn't a top 6 winger but that 2nd line was awesome last season. We have a moderately respectable 3rd line, a pretty nice 4th line, and a top 6 that is one of the best in the league.
